Stately Switch Games

I picked up FF7 the last time it was on sale on the Switch. Never finished it the first time around on PC–if I remember right, I got stuck when I got out into the open world–but I’m gonna get through it this time, damn it.

(That is, if I don’t get distracted by One Step From Eden and In Other Waters and the games I’m playing on other platforms … )

Nice! I just bought the FFVII/FFVIII physical version for Switch, which I found on Amazon as an import from Japan. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to get to it until I’ve devoured the FFVII Remake on PS4.

I was horrible at this game until I unlocked the character who ignores the beats, and has every monster move when they move. Never played another character again. I know that means I’m just not seeing a lot of the game, but I’d rather play only the part I enjoy than all of it.

I love the game but only have it on iOS. I love rhythm games in general, though, so it was more or less a given I’d enjoy Necrodancer.

I have to say, I’m surprised the red mage didn’t finish FFVII…

Ha, maybe I should change my avatar. I’m not nearly as much of a FF fanboy as that makes me appear. Really enjoyed the FF games I’ve played, but I’ve missed a few along the way.

Does the Switch have a good online multiplayer brawler like Gang Beasts?

I really don’t know Gang Beats, but what about Super Smash Bro’s? It isn’t 3D, but it sure is a multiplayer brawler…

I am getting a game about…ME!..again!

cough

Prinny 1+2 (originally on PSP) will be re-released on the switch…and man does it look gorgeous…

It is a spinoff of the Disgaea Series meaning it isn’t a SRPG but a Sidescrollling Adventure/Platformer/Mayhem Simulator.
Prior knowledge of the Disgaea games may be helpful for all the whacky inside jokes and cameo appearances of characters from Nippon Ichi games, but it isn’t mandatory.

It is getting harder by the day on holding off on the Switch purchase…BY THE DAY!

I don’t know how you feel about the Fire Emblem games, but I have always liked them and am finally playing through Three Houses. It is fabulous. A bit of a learning curve at the start (because they packed so much stuff you can do into this), but well worth it. If it was the only game I ever played on the Switch (it is not), I’d be happy.

I’ve been tempted to get one of the Disgaea games they’ve released for switch, but dood, talk about games with too much stuff packed into them to reasonably do… I never made it through the first one on PSP from getting distracted by going to weapon-lands and what not.

Fire Emblem games are system sellers for me, I got the Gamecube, Wii and Wii U mostly for them. If you decuct each Fire Emblem on them I have less than a handful games on all that 3 consoles alltogether.

For that reason alone I should already own a switch but I am still fighting the urge. I try to at least finish Xenoblade Chronicles X on Wii U before I retire it to be replaced by a Switch (cupboard real estate is tight as well as money also Bagloggus Monstrous™ on every plattform I own (I still have PS1,2,3 games I want to (re-)play)).

Yeah Fire Emblem and esp. Disgaea games are huge time sinks.
I like the humor a LOT in Disgaea games but decided to only go for Story Playtrough and Side story stuff after dabbling in the ridicolous stuff you can do aside from the Main game in Disgaea 1. Everything else for the Minmax-Nerds with the ridicolous rewards for playing it 100000000000 hours or more isn’t for me

Anyone tried Rebel Cops?

Any recommendations for a good FPS? Need a good de-stressor…

ETA: don’t mind a single player

Bioshock or Borderlands. The former for an atmospheric horror adventure, the later for Diablo with guns.

Solid recommendation on Borderlands, exactly what I was looking for!

First time playing Borderlands? Boy are you in for a treat.

I freakin’ love the franchise for its humor (sometimes bad but always whacky) for its core-gameplay-loop (LOOOOT) and its visuals. Oh and the music…THE MUSIC!

This franchise on its own opened my frozen shrunk heart for FPS and 3PS games, and therefore also Open World games…without the first Borderlands? No Uncharted, no Bioshock, no Witcher, no (modern) Tomb Raider, no Last of Us, no Red dead Redemption, no No Man Sky, probably no modern jRPG ever and most importantly NO MASS EFFECT for me!

As you can guess I hated everything remote “shooter-y” before then…to think I nearly missed out on all that good stuff!
Even then…my Backlog would be as big as it is now…only with more obscure games on it

See, I don’t get the whole love of music in games (huge thread de rail). I rarely get to play with headphones or music on given the family.

Like, I couldn’t even tell you the last game I played with sound (maybe WoW?), and because of that I don’t seem to get the hook on the score.

Weird huh?

I am to fixxated on the music…always going for a walk and listening to music…Oh Mass Effect OST up? Nice!
…5 min later hmmmm…when do I play Mass Effect again?

So hearing a OST often gets me into the mood to play the game where the OST originates from.
Same with licenced music…one of the Borderlands songs plays in the first episode of Lucifer…next Borderlands session when?
