How does the saying go? You have to be lucky to be good, and good to be lucky? I had a reasonable plan from the start and the cards and food and other random aspects seemed to go in my favour more often than not.
Building decent food and egg āenginesā including a couple of āfree stuff when another player does somethingā birds really set me up well. And getting a āstar/wildā bird early on helped with the nest matching final round goals meaning I was able to dominate those points. Lastly, getting a couple of birds that gave extra bonus cards and finding some synergy there really pushed me over the top.

Kudos to our medalists - an epic final tie between @Hardco and @feederofgoats had to be broken by looking at their head-to-head record! And @Baelnor leap-frogged from 6th to 3rd with a win in the final game!

I was sort of hoping for a tiebreak 11th event, but Iāll take the win! Well played @feederofgoats, Iām sure we get more head-to-head matches in the 2022 decathlon!
Thanks for running the event again @Codington. Does this also end the tradition of whoever runs the decathlon also wins it? Iām not sure whether my memory is too accurateā¦
