Thats at least 5 of us so I’ve set up a table for 5 for anyone to jump in, password SP1 . If it doesn’t fill up today we can reduce the number of seats

Whoa, were you counting me? It’s only a maybe for me right now. I’ve never played; what’s the learning curve like?

I was, but Jane has also logged in so there more theoretical players than there are seats anyway. I mostly just wanted to get a game running to check that the game had workable multiplayer. I’m sure it does, Acrams other multiplayer has been solid.

It’s also probably our best chance to get a win over hardco  While he is even faster out of the blocks than me when it comes to finding a winning strategy, there’s always the chance of an upset win in these early games.

I’ll grab this later tonight when I get home and get some wifi, but I’m with @Mirefox in having to learn it… and Brass for the decathalon, although my chances of winning that right now are less than @whovian223’s I think.

Never underestimate my ability to suck at Brass…

I got invited to a random game by someone watching the recent player list. The multiplayer seems pretty good despite that guy bailing before I played my first turn… The board is a little small on the phone, but it probably just needs a little time to recognize the spaces. The interface is pretty smooth though.

I’ve got about 15-20 plays in on the physical game. The full extent of my strategy is “try not to go back to the fountain too many times” though.

Six Ages appears to be out, and as soon as I can drag myself out of bed I will put it on my iPad.

Edit: I am out of bed, and it is good.

Pocket City is up for preorder, with a release date of 31 July and a price point of $4.99 USD. People in the alpha report that it’s a full premium, no IAP, City Builder.

Nice! I’ve had my eye on the subreddit for a while and it looks pretty great. Tried to get into the alpha unsuccessfully…

Hardback’s out on Android (not sure about iOS)

It is out on the AppStore. Looks neat in theory, but very very broken. Purchased, played tutorial, then UI became unusable after the very first turn, spitting out a bunch of exceptions. (iOS 10 iPad)

Sorry to hear that as the tutorial (the only bit I’ve done so far), worked without a hitch for me on my iPad Pro (2G) iOS 11.4. Probably a case of minimal backward compatibility testing on the devs’ part.

Yeah, worked fine for me as well, but I think Android is Fower’s more familiar platform.

I’ve got a few multiplayer games going now and I think I enjoy this more than Paperback (being able to make any card wild by flipping it and giving up it’s abilities is super nice)

I’ve played one game and it worked fine.

Always open to MP games, though!

Seems to work better on iOS 11.

Today’s Hardback update: “stopped AI from using inappropriate words”

Was it swearing? LOL

It was indeed. When I played a game against two AI after the tutorial I got an f-bomb dropped on me by each over the course of the game.

In both cases they could have picked a different letter to swap for a wild and had basically the same outcome as far as points / coins.

Gave me a chuckle, but I suppose to make a word game as inclusive as possible you gotta filter that. I know Spry Fox had an update a while back for Alphabear for the same reason.

This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper

If we stop the ai from dropping F bombs now
Who knows what kind of bombs they could be dropping tomorrow

Fair enough, but can I still use naughty words? I figure it would only be fair that there are a handful of words the game recognizes but AI can’t use as they do have an entire huge dictionary to pull their words from. I swear my vocabulary in these spelling games is only shrinking to a handful of 3-4 letter words.

Sterilization of the english language is one of many ways that Words with Friends sucks compared to Scrabble. Hopefully the Paperback series can be saved from this fate. As long as players can be as vulgar as they like, I’m good.
