Has anyone tried the new Meteorfall game? It gets glowing reviews, which doesn’t surprise me, but I’ve heard it compared to Monster Train a couple times now, where you set up heroes in different lanes, play cards, and fight off waves of enemies. That’s high praise, if true.
Yes, I’ve played it and enjoy it. The Monster Train comparisons are somewhat apt. I’d say the game is also similar to Wildfrost, in that moving your heroes each turn can help you gain benefits or avoid damage. Battles in Rustbowl Rumble are more limited than in those games–you and your enemies play on a 2 x 2 grid, so two lanes, each with a front and back position. But there’s still plenty of complexity to work with, both in battle and in the deckbuilding stages in between.
My only complaint is the game is too memory-hungry to run well on my six year old iPad–it crashes out after a couple of battles. I prefer the iPad screen to my phone, but it still plays well on the latter.
testing testing, check 1-2, check 1-2
I’m here too
Wondered what had happened. Tab wouldn’t load. Glad we’re back.
Do you have access to the discord? As a backup, in case we are down again, most of us can be found on https://discord.gg/cVESGW5t
A few people use it regularly, but it really only gets regular use when this is down
If someone didn’t use discord while the website was down, a recent game (actually new app for an old game long gone from the AppStore).
I have an Italian friend who is a sound technician. And a Czech one too. And a Czech one too.
the original app (released 2010) was perfect.
15 years later i’m missing the token overview (showing all tokens which still can be played) and the log. two essential quality of life features which should be there.
did i miss something?
Requested now on the discord
Is it a re-release? Or an entirely new app? I never bought it back in the day but I thought it was by a different developer, maybe even Codito? But I could be very wrong.
Check for nostalgia
totally correct!
it’s an entirely new app from another developer.
Has anyone tried Rogue Words? It’s as if Balatro and Scrabble had a baby, and it’s totally free on iOS. If you have a strong aversion to word games, I doubt this will sway you, but it is otherwise fantastic. My wife is completely hooked and if I tried to describe Balatro - or any other roguelike for that matter - to her, her eyes would glaze over.
Not sure if I love you or hate you because of this, but this game is like crack and I don’t even like Balatro that much nor English is my first language.
It’s simply brilliant.
I’ll have to look at it. I tried a Balatro word game before called Letterlike that was so-so.
