Roll Player recently updated and along with general bug fixes the log also says that notifications have been updated to include badges. That’s a big deal and I wish more games would follow that lead. So…anyone want to test it?

Doesn’t mean I know what I’m doing within the game, but I do a learning by doing in this one.
If they’ve fixed the random games disappearing from time to time it’s now a top-tier app.
I started a new game for 4 people: aavdud
Vault of the Void just released on iOS. It is another roguelike deck builder. I am unfamiliar with it but it seems very highly regarded on Steam.
I definitely enjoyed that one on Steam. Looks like it’s on Android as well now.
It’s decent with a lot of original mechanics. One interesting bit is how the game not only allows you to see well in advance the exact opponents you’ll be facing, you can even see the card you stand to win if you defeat them.
Also, as your deck must always be comprised of X cards (I can’t recall off hand, maybe 30), you’re free to edit your deck before each fight with whatever cards you’ve unlocked so far on this run.
Grabbed a couple of new releases yesterday that may be of interest to this crowd. Both available on Steam/iOS/Android:
-
Guncho–Arnold Rauers’ latest, which is in many ways a cowboy-themed Hoplite (with a dash of Into the Breach influence thrown in, according to the dev). Entertaining enough so far that I was willing to pay for the $5 unlock.
-
One Deck Galaxy–Unsurprisingly a spiritual successor to One Deck Dungeon, but different enough that I’ve found it worthwhile so far. We’ll see how I feel after losing a bunch of games. Does include a campaign, which is a plus; tablet-only on mobile at the moment, which is a minus.
I had my eyes on Guncho since his games tend to interest me and I love the Western theme.
I can’t find One Deck Galaxy on iOS. Is it also Handelabra?
It is a Handelabra game. Let’s see if posting the link while on my iPad helps …
Interesting. iPad only. They’ve done that with most of their games before but with ODD being on the iPhone I assumed they’d do the same with ODG. Ah well, maybe eventually.
ODD and Sentinels eventually got mobile support, but I don’t think they invested in that work until they sold enough since they were both a significant rework of the UI.
For those of you with kids, Welcome to Everdell just released on iOS. I’ve never played it I’d imagine it’s a solid introduction to worker placement for the younger ones.
Steam Summer Sale has begun
A ton of board game apps are dropping in price on iOS, too. Probably related.
I accidentally stumbled upon this one while browsing the AppStore:
I can’t remember that it was mentioned here before. I really liked Dragon Pass, but unfortunately never managed to play Six Ages.
