Gaia Project updated today with some interesting features. I haven’t fired up the app yet to check them out, but there are now scenarios with associated achievements and unlocks like avatars. This is interesting because Digidiced games tend to be utilitarian at best and haven’t really deviated from their norm.
How did you create a private game? Create Match isn’t clickable on mine…
Also, there’s no chat?
Also also, this feels much more tense than TS and it seems like every card is awful lol
I have no issue with the Create Match button. I’m not sure why it would be different for you… It seems strange to take chat out of the game, but maybe with the game only going 2 turns they didn’t think people would want to talk!
New Digital game incoming from Alexander Pfister. Not sure about mobile, but saw it on Steam to wishlist today.
Just following up a little with the Horrible Guild games, both Potion Explosion and Dragon Castle updated to include the resumption of online services. Railroad Ink is the only of their games that hasn’t had an update but it does, fortunately, seem imminent at this point.
I don’t really know the game, but Kards just released on mobile. I know it is a WWII TCG that was previously only on PC.
Carson City the card game is free on iOS and everywhere else for a limited time
The iOS link:
It’s not a good game nor a good implementation btw. I just thought I Post it cause it’s free if anyone wants to try it.
A bad implementation of a bad game hasn’t stopped us before…
Nice meditative “deathless” roguelike I just picked up last night.
Has a similar vibe to Onirim by Shadi Torbey.
As you progress further through the lanes of cards you’ll unlock more of the UI and hint system, the game is sorta figuring out the game.
Twilight Struggle: Red Sea is now available on iOS. iPad-only, unfortunately.
And Spirit Island just got it’s Horizons DLC update. For anyone who plays that brain bender of a game…
I really want to. And then I start the tutorial and zone out…
If it’s of any kind of support, the rules are actually not that hard to grasp nor take too much time. What makes this game difficult is the crunchy choices every turn and having to think ahead and plan, but what great game doesn’t have that. I make myself a kind loose rule where if I haven’t taken my turn within a few minutes, then I just choose whatever options I was thinking and just see how it goes. Single player on the app the games can be quite quick (say 30 minutes), so there will always be another round/game to play if a choice doesn’t work out ideally.
I complain about this in every game that doesn’t have it, but Spirit Island is the exact type of game I wish had some asynch multiplayer. We don’t really have any cooperative asynch games with crunch decision making and it would be a blast for my friends and I to team up for something like this. Off the top of my head, the only good co-op we have is Root clockwork, and that’s not quite the same.
Slay the Spire recently released in Apple Arcade. I’m curious if this is the exact same version we’ve had on iOS for years or if they ever made the fixes/improvements that we’ve asked for.
Downloaded StS+ on my phone … I think it might have cloud sync, as it shows “syncing data” messages after each battle, but I don’t have my iPad to confirm. Going to be pretty irritated if that’s the case and the premium version we paid for doesn’t get that update after being told years ago cloud saves were coming “soon.”
With that said, will I be irritated enough to not unlock everything for a fourth time (PC, Switch, iOS, Arcade)? Probably not. I’ve been playing a lot of StS on my iPad lately anyway.
I lost all of my StS data when I got a new phone and I think I’m done with it. It’s good and if I had had cloud saves I could see myself going back to play dailies and for high scores and the such. There are enough good games in the genre, though, that I doubt I’ll be all that motivated to start from scratch.
I just checked, it does feature iCloud saves.
Will be a massive bummer if they don’t add iCloud save to the premium version especially after saying they would like two years ago and then a few times after that as well.
Agreed. I just asked about it on Twitter, so we’ll see what they say.
