Also noticed that a remake of “master of magic” is expected to release on steam in a couple of days.
Hope it’s good! Loved that game….

Oh, I had no clue it was so close! I loved the game back in the day but, have to admit, previous attempts at simply porting the original to be playable in modern systems didn’t do it for me. As I recall this more a modern remake, so hopefully same core gameplay but with a modern UI and graphics.
Diablo IV comes out in June. Final Fantasy XVI comes out in June. My wife may be leaving me in June.
I am sure she will hang around til July….
D4 looks fun, not sure on FF - I don’t think I have the reaction times for non-turn based combat
100% true for me as well!
Also true for me, but it is a mainline FF and I can’t see myself not buying it instantly…
I didn’t play the last one for this reason - probably missed out, but yeah
The demo for this is fantastic. Looking forward to it coming out early next year.
It looks like Digidiced released Chai today. I’ve never played it, but I’ll give it a shot if anyone else wants to play.
There will likely be a number of sales popping up as we head into Christmas but I just noticed one for a game we’ve not really talked about. Hero Emblems II is $3 off right now. I haven’t put a ton of time into it but it seems pretty good from the little I’ve dabbled. It isn’t drastically different than the first and you can still expect to be playing the same match-3 game we all know but there are some good tweaks that improve the game slightly. You can now change out party members and each individual character is a little more customizable. The writing/translation is still garbage.
Made the game unplayable for me tbh.
At least it is easily shippable.
The writing in HE2 is awful, but I really enjoyed the game once I learned to just ignore it and focus on the quests and battles. Took me 49 hours to finish and really didn’t feel like much of a grind. YMMV, of course.
I was going to ignore this b/c the reviews all mention how many irritating random encounters there are in HE2, but @geigerm and @Mirefox both like it?? That’s kind of just-buy-it authorization for me given what else I know you like…
At this point, there are enough sales that it might be easier to list what isn’t on sale, so if you’ve been waiting on a game, look for it now.
On another note, I know it has been discussed in the past but does anyone have any insight into the state of the Game of Thrones Board Game app? Specifically, if I just want it for 3-player asynch games, is it functional? I see bad reviews for the AI and broken IAP but that doesn’t really pertain to me.
Speaking of Sales, the Steam Winter Sale should start later today.
I was able to start online games and play for a bit, but then they inevitably froze. I gave up on that many months ago. And playing solo is an exercise in torture. They seem unable to make the AI playable–it’s either really dumb or so smart you have no chance of winning. I love the boardgame and utterly hate this app.
Thanks. Sounds like something to avoid.
The Grizzled by CMON appears to be an app now. $5.99 US on the Apple ap store. The game can be played “one shot” or as the Armistice campaign. The scant app description does say cross-play, which I suppose implies online play.
I had never even heard of that game - didn’t realise CMON did anything but over produced plastic mountains
