They’ve got some good card games like XenoShyft and they also have your “standard” games that have a lot of components and then a couple minis to add some character, like Marvel United.
I did two boardgame app reviews.
Chai is a great little card game by Digidiced.
Unmatched is a 2-player (mostly) skirmish game that’s actually quite good.
I can’t wait for Unmatched to come to iOS.
Same. It’s in early access on steam iirc
I bought scout on this app and played it the last two days. Today I had my first online games, with strangers. Although there is a way to invite friends (via code), I don’t think they are async.
The online games play fairly quick, and are well implemented. I can recommend it for anyone who is interested to play scout. I cannot judge upon the other in app games so far.
Just a heads up, TfM 2.0 just dropped on Steam and auto-updated, breaking all of my games. Hopefully I can access them on iOS still, but a warning to all if the update dropped on iOS too.
The update is available on iOS but I haven’t updated.
Reading the patch notes, the big “2.0” update doesn’t sound much different than any of the previous; mainly little bug fixes and some UI changes. The notes didn’t mention actually being able to see your end game score…
My iOS TfM has been updated and my games are borked.
Ha, that’s the first thing I looked for!
Looks like all games are borked; it logged me out and won’t let me login again until I update the app.
Hmmm I was able to use my non-updated iOS app with no problem earlier tonight
Hopefully I can later!
darn! all my low expectations have been confirmed…again.
running games broken and no substantial improvements.
exactly this is going on for years.
a neverending (?) story of blabla, fails and shattered hopes.
That just reminded me that there used to be a Stone Age app years ago that I had completely forgotten about.
It’s also been a long, long time between Unmatched being announced and Unmatched being released so I’m not going to get too excited yet.
But I’m down for a tourney!
Sweet!! Fond memories of the original app from way back ago until it was broken (I think) with updated IOS requirements. The dev at the time surfaced from his cave and updated the app and it worked for a while (with bugs) until it didn’t and quietly dropped off the App Store. Release 2023 according to Acram - tomorrow?
Paperback Adventures just launched in EA on steam.
BrettspeilWelt just launched Fantasy Realms on iOS. I love the card game but am a bit hesitant on the app. The developer makes very serviceable high score chasers that can but fun, but also rough around the edges. Their login is usually a nightmare with no consistent logins across their lines (so saving high scores is difficult) and they never have online. The card game is only $20, so do I need this one? Probably not. I’ll probably end up buying is anyways at some point like a chump.
Looks like they dropped Super Mega Lucky Box within the last week or two as well.
I’m quite a fan of SMLB but I’ve only played it on BGA before.
