Same here! (though my play of it on Steam didn’t go as far as I might have liked, I think I will play it more on iPad)
I don’t play PC games so I’m very excited about this news. iPhone all the way.
My old eyes cannot play most things that require reading on the iphone any more, even with my glasses.
Yeah, I do find myself doing a lot of squinting these days.
I saw that Oceans has a multiplayer release on it.
I really like their games, not sure whether the tech is up to actual async gaming
Last I played, Evolution worked fairly well. There are some QoL changes I’d make but it was perfectly functional. Games created fine, notifications worked, scores were shown, etc. Granted, I don’t know if I’ve played in at least a year.
Marvel Snap releases today. I haven’t played it yet but it may have promise…time will tell. It is easy to assume a new digital CCG is a) a cash grab and b) a redundant clone, but Snap may have a chance to be different. From what I can tell, it has a Smash Up-esque mechanic where you are playing for control of three locations. Decks are small (12 cards, I think). The one concern I have from reading is that cards can be upgraded, though so far it sounds like it may be cosmetic-only. Leave any impressions of you play it.
Anyone seeing Labyrinth yet? Supposed to release on iOS today but there’s a big ol’ when I search.
It’s got some unique gameplay to it, but from what I’ve read it’s one of the most greedily monetized CCGs ever. It’s possible they’ve addressed this since the beta though.
Boo for that.
For what it is worth, is sounds like the monetization was completely overhauled after some of the outrage during beta. Card unlocks now seem to be linear and based on playing. On the other hand. There are a ton of cosmetics to purchase.
Sigma Theory is out on iOS.
Any good?
Ha! Actually, I don’t know, but I remember reading about it a while ago and it was much hyped. I’m waiting on Labyrinth before I buy other games this week.
I keep searching the App Store for labyrinth lol, wish there was an F5 feature for it
Marvel snap seems fun. There’s an unpaid season pass and an exceptionally long leveling up/unlocking tree to climb. No energy timer so I guess you can play as much as you like. There is a currency that effectively limits the maximum speed you can climb the tree, and I’m not yet sure how to grind out more.
But likewise, I’m waiting on labyrinth. Sigma piqued my interest as it says it’s by the “out there” people, which I seems to remember enjoying
Sigma piqued mine too but Steam reviews are mixed… wondering if it’s geared more towards mobile type play?
Yep, definitely doesn’t seem greedy at all. I’ve been enjoying Snap a fair bit tonight.
Managed to pull me away from Dawncaster which no other mobile game has managed to do in the last couple weeks.
Weird, it seemed kind of boring to me, but I will check it out again later I guess.
