I think FTL combat is supposed to feel overwhelming, specially when things are going wrong and the fight might end in the end of your run. But then there’s the pause button, which I just about wore a hole in the amount of times I used it

Don’t confuse overwhelming with “overcomplicated” though.

Perhaps the combat might be a considerable amount of “complicated” for some people but actually, that’s just the beauty of the strategy, tactics, and depth of the game. FTL is a masterpiece because of its combat,

I don’t deny it can become overwhelming, but that’s what the pause is for, and that’s what let’s us strategy gamers go to town with our strategy minds. I personally love it (obviously).

I can subscribe to that statement :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Also for me (and me alone obviously) overwhelming equals overcomplicated in FTL.
And this comes from a guy who plays Disgaea games which are the embodiment of overcomplicated game systems :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I DO understand why there is an pause option but for my tastes the game is to much fiddling.
The reason I prefer Crying Suns over FTL is that the combat is trimmed down and sleek (in comparison).

I am with you on the turn based stuff. If I can’t be safely interrupted by a child or wife and then pick up where I left off, the game struggles for relevance.

Puzzle Quest 3 was just announced for PC and mobile. I don’t know much about it, but here is hoping they keep it a premium game and don’t dip their toes into the f2p nonsense that most games seem to have devolved in to.

There are different kinds of ftp of course. I have been playing Path of Exile a lot lately, and it is FTP done extremely well.

Oh, I agree, but when it comes to these match-3 puzzle games, we’ve seen the genre over saturated with f2p games that have all sorts of energy, time gates, leveling up with a third currency, etc. If this game isn’t premium, it suddenly becomes yet-another Marvel Puzzle Quest, or whatever, and dies a quick death.

PocketGamer says it will be free to play with in-app purchases, so I’m assuming the death of another great IP.

I have now hit 111 games on my wish list on Steam

(that is newsworthy, right?)

Let me go check…uh…yeah…maybeeeeeee?

Edit…I am not so worried with my wishlist…but more with the size of my library…

Yep! I have three in my Wishlist, I try to keep it trim…

Hate to think what that means for the backlog list then B

Heh, it’s actually pretty reasonable. I really procrastinate when buying games, since I hate having things I can’t put time into.

My Steam account has 124 games, but most of that was super cheap jumble bundle stuff from back in the day.

Interestingly, all titles on my wish list are Early Access

Uh…I bought my first Early Access game today…

Another Flood gate I desperately held close for a long time broken…

Who is our resident 40k lover? Have you heard anything about Dakka Squadron on iOS? It looks like an arcade flight game featuring Orks.

@Pitta

And NOT f2p, color me surprised

Actually, that is the thing that even piqued my interest. If it was f2p I never even would have mentioned it.

For no reason at all, it gave me a “descent” vibe. Must have been the way he was bouncing off the floor. Did anyone check it out? If GameStop is kind to me today, I’m very tempted to find out myself

So my Xbox controller is a new model and doesn’t work with my iPad yet  I think I’ll have to sit on this game until it does. I don’t imagine playing with touch controls will be an optimal experience
