Our esteemed leader @Neumannium just tweeted about Spirit Island from Handelabra being released for tablets today. I don’t know a thing about the game, but have a link.
4/5 weight on bgg, best with 2 players, coop? Tell me more
I scanned the app store notes, doesn’t appear to have multiplayer at all, unless I’m missing something - not surprising since it’s Handelabra
It might be worth checking the other dlc to see if they’re free. Previously they made each dlc free for 24 hours before making the next one free. I picked up pretty much everything for free that way.
I still paid for the base game and full expansions, so I’ve paid my way
No async multiplayer, because the game is not designed like that. It is true coop, so every action by every player is kind of simultaneous.
I have played a bit on Steam, and it is an amazing game.
If anyone gets into CCGs, Legends of Runeterra released a new expansion.
I have been away for a while, but this game continues to grow and deliver
Handelabra just released Spirit Island for ipad. Excellent implementation - I have the tabletop version but don’t play it enough. This is really well done though…
It needs to be noted that Spirit Island is also free to try, with a $20 full unlock or a $2/mo subscription, which I guess is worth it if you plan on playing 9 months or less…
Pretty pricey for an inst-buy, but it is nice that I get to try it out for free.
So I wonder what this could be?
Geoff Engelstein tweeted that he’s doing a game “based on” Terraforming Mars.
I did a post about it, just wondering what the heck it could be.
Also received an email that the Maracaibo digital edition has been delayed, likely until April (at least).
The email mentioned “the three of them,” which means this is a really small studio (Spiralburst Studio) so it’s understandable.
Hopefully they’ll be able to produce a top-notch app with some more time.
Dire Wolf does well, quite reasonably. A couple I hadn’t heard of.
The only one I haven’t played is Clever Cubed but my wife and I have (un)healthy running competitions in the first two Clever games and I’m holding off on purchasing the third for a road trip or something. Every other one has a well deserved spot on the list.
Board game version of Slay the Spire coming to Kickstarter soon:

Someone on here had mentioned Crying Suns in one of the many conversations on this site some time this past year and I put it on my Steam wish list. I almost picked it up this past winter sale, but held off.
It’s free on Epic Game Store this week. Available for both PC and Mac.
Free is a great price for that game. I had a great time working out all its systems, even if it didn’t have staying power for me. Would recommend, specially at the price of free
It has been a bit light on the staying power I guess. But for free I could quite recommend it since I AM the person who gushed about it and still think it’s a brilliant game. For people in the roguelike/sci-fi urge but fed up with FTL (or never fans of the FTL overcomplicated battle system to begin with)
Magic the Gathering Arena is having an early access release later this month on Android with iOS coming “later this year.” I’m sure when this finally comes out I will be playing it a ton, but right now I am really apathetic about it and feel like Wizards is about 3 years late on this one.
FTL…Over complicated battle system.
Sorry but wow.
The combat system of FTL is a big part of what makes it the masterpiece that it is.
But we all have opinions I guess.
I think, at least for me, is a real-time vs turn-based thing. When you mostly play turn-based games, FTL can seem like a lot…even with the pause and order functions.
It certanly is funny, isn’t it? I played countless hours of Warcraft and Starcraft growing up, but generally speaking things have slowed down and I find myself playing many more turn-based games; FTL can seem overwhelming even though it really shouldn’t based on my ealry gaming preferences.
