Digidiced seems to be all over the board. They have certainly improved their app presentation with most new releases, but I feel like most of their things are always a little rough around the edges somewhere. Their while online infrastructure is always a bit slow for me, but I tend to trust them to at least get it working. I like the developer and typically buy their apps, but I also know what I’m getting on to. I haven’t tried Castles of Burgundy yet, which seems their most “modern” app, though that has also apparently led to some complaints.
The slowness of their online infrastructure is definitely my biggest complaint about Digidiced. I feel like I would want to play their games more if it didn’t take so long to get in and take a turn…
Castles of Burgundy works well; my biggest complaint with it is the same as with all Digidiced games - I have to force close the app every time it’s my turn in order for it to load the game properly. Or exit out of the game, back to the main menu, hope Gamecenter logs in, and then play. All in all too much effort for regular play imho.
Agreed that it is overly-annoying. I know it is possible to do better, but I’ll put up with their infrastructure if that’s the cost for asynchronous play.
it often helps to go to your profile and then back to games in progress.
i wonder if all that trouble results from their server stationed in Germany?
because i don’t have many connectivity problems with digidiced.
only every now and then.
Anyone else here playing Monster Train (PC only, available on Steam)? Roguelike deckbuilder that’s clearly inspired by Slay the Spire (StS owners even got a 10% discount at release a couple of weeks ago) but adds some novel features (lane-based combat, a bit of tower defense in that enemies work their way up to the top of your 4-level train) … it’s pretty freakin’ great.
If you want more detail, there are about 900 articles praising the game to the heavens that many of you have probably already seen, but I think the RPS review covers most of it.
