I believe the new Dead Cells DLC came out today.
It did and itās awesome, as expected. $4.99 on switch.
Company of Heroes dropped. Itāsā¦really good. Absolutely up to Feralās standards.
CoH is the only game Iāve ever pre-ordered. I woke up, fired up my iPad to read my news and saw that it had downloaded overnight. Uh, ohā¦I may enjoy the surprise gratification of pre-ordering a little too muchā¦
Browsing the store I also see that CoH is the #2 best selling RPG right now. Well done, App Storeā¦
Book of Demons: Tablet Edition is out on iPad now. This one is right up my alley so Iād love to hear some impressions.
Ever play the PC version? Based on what Iāve played of the iPad version, thus far, content is identical. Right now, I prefer the touch control of the iPad version over the mouse control of the PC version.
As for the game itself, I bought it early on in its Steam EA stage, and donāt regret it one bit. Itās a labor of love thatās been polished to the extreme. These devs did EA right, and theyāre being rewarded for it. Now theyāve delivered the mobile version, and itās slick as hell on my 3rd generation iPad.
Bottom line: highly recommended.
EDIT: And at the launch price of only $4.99, itās an absolute steal.
No, I havenāt played it on PC, but Iāll probably be grabbing the iOS version.
Very much enjoying the demo and looking forward to the release later this month.
Iāve spent about an hour with Book of Demons and itās great so far. I assume the variety of enemies and difficulty ramps up as you go, otherwise itāll get monotonous. The fact that you can set your game length and still progress through the campaign is pretty brilliant.
Oh, yeah! Wait until you have multiple mages casting spells (blocking your retreat with summons and dropping boulders and such on your head), sending magical attacks at you (some of which are homing), etc. If you donāt interrupt their spell casting in time consistently, youāll have a very bad day. Ranged attackers are also a PITA.
Over at Destructoid, they are reporting that the Hasbro CEO has said that Magic Arena is coming to mobile this year. They are also speculating that a release window might be revealed at some toy expo this month. Hereās hoping.
Learned some of this the hard way, since I died about 5 minutes after I basically posted, āHope the game gets harder.ā Be careful what you wish for, friends ā¦
(In all seriousness, Iām thankful for the challenge. Means the game will remain a fixture on my iPad for the foreseeable future.)
Goblinz owns most of my wish list. Theyāve got some interesting stuff on the schedule.
Toy Expo here in NY is a fairly big show later this month.
I still havenāt delved into the game much, but I know Wesnoth is a pretty popular PC SRPG. The app has very recently become universal with cloud saves, which is really nice news. Now I just need to actually play it a bit.
WotC has contracted another company to come on and help with the mobile version of MTGA.
Carcassonne by CodingMonkeys will be removed from the App Store March 1, 2020
Asmodee takes over and sells their app at that point. The Coding Monkeys have added a sub to help keep online services running for as long as possible. Iām very likely going to donate to it to keep it going. This app has been the A+ gold standard for online, async, notifications and general all around polish. Iām going to miss it.
If you donāt have it, itās on sale. Get it.
Well, this doesnāt bode well for WHQ: Silver Tower not being a crapfest ā¦
Oh, ffs.
In other news, Epic Card Game released. Seems good so far, although I havenāt fired up multiplayer yet because I suck.
Free to download, seems you unlock new cards by playing the campaign, beating the AI (?), etc. IAPs are purely cosmetic - foil overlays, daily avatars, player mats, etc. Iām JS619 there if anyone fancies a game later.
May take you up on that.
