Rollercoaster of a game! Going from total dominance to being relieved by a draw… Good game.

The Virginia holdout is the Delmarva peninsula south of Maryland, which had a British unit in it, possibly from a retreat.

That makes sense (not that i can see it now :slight_smile:)

I have an email saying that there’s a turn waiting, dated yesterday, but the game’s over so not sure what that’s about.

Ok, so basically the whole thing was an internal English argument about administration. Let’s see if I got the side who joined up with the French or the one that liked Germans.

And we’re off. Successive turns for the rebel militia and the Continentals don’t quite yield the hoped-for success. Maine and South Carolina are captured at the second attempt, but stiffer-than-expected resistance means neither look very secure. The bright spot is recruiting the natives goes well, with a force in northern New York reaching the very borders of Quebec.


Also, truce card on turn 1… Not by choice, but at least I got to shuffle stuff.

And we’re live too. The British decide not to contest the south. Led by the militia, New Hampshire and Maine are freed. The Maine defenders inflict casualties before going down swinging. The New Hampshire defenders, on the other hand, unanimously decide to leave for parts less fraught before things get unpleasant. Very wise.

With two turns in a row, the combined forces of no taxation without representation secured Georgia and South Carolina, while also reinforcing Connecticut and Rhode Island, and recruiting some natives for good measure. The south is a nice shade of grey, countering that awful orange hue in the north.

The forces of pay-your-taxes-and-like-it-peasants respond in similar vein. New York City decamps en masse for New Jersey, possibly something that has happened in no other universe ever*, and the colony is duly reassimilated. Indian reinforcements are gathered in northern New York in a heartwarming meeting of cultures and mutual understanding**

Quite an eventful turn. The French arrive to the party early, landing 6 troops in Rhode Island. Along with several regulars and patriots, they attack into Boston, winning it handily.

The continentals also make attacks in New York, where the militia flees without a shot, in one of the Carolinas, and in Virginia. Both militia forces in the south wisely choose to utilize their command decision, foiling control of the states.

And about the NYC - Jersey thing? You’re absolutely correct… we like to think it’s because we don’t want them here. It’s why we have such high property tax - keeps out the riff raff and all… :wink:

As to the actual turn, almost nothing happened. Distributed my 10 (10? Resolute in battle not so much then) and recruited the Pennsylvania Indians. Lost the tempo there a bit.
