Are there stories in these Sniper games or just a series of missions?
Thereās a story but itās not great. Youāre typically hunting a super-evil Nazi running a secret Wunderwaffe project which vill of coarse vin ze var vor ze Tchermans. The missions are well-designed with multiple optional objectives and lots of things to find (some of which are actually well hidden). You donāt need to have played the previous games.
I think this is a game where I honestly get more enjoyment out of watching you blow testicles off at 500 meters vs doing it myself. I have zero patience for stealth and sneaking, although I do love the sniping in CoD.
Anyway, moar sac shots please.
I wonder what happens when you get a non lethal round to the ball bag.
Nothing apparently. Which makes their inclusion all the more baffling. Every other bullet type rewards you with a slow motion kill cam. This is as mental as the inclusion of non-lethal land mines. The game rewards you with extra XP for not killing Nazis.
Playing Bright Reappear on iOS. Entertaining match 3 RPG where the main unique mechanic is the ability to build up extra action points to make it easier to pull off crazy combos. I enjoy it a lot.
But every review Iāve read mentions the terrible dialogue, largely (I assume) due to translation issues. Thought it was an exaggeration and the dialogue was just cheesy until tonight. A āFoul Monsterā (yes, thatās the actual enemy name) threw some dark orb at me and said āFear my tainted ball!ā
Donāt know what kind of guy he thinks I am.
Sounds like fantastic writing to me!
I think bad writing is par for the course on iOS. Hero Emblems is bad and the sequel is even worse but the gameplay is excellent. The ability to skip or speed up dialogue is great.
This week I have taken a break from D4, and waiting for the new season to start next week (although I will be traveling on business, so will get a late start.)
In the meantime, I have been obsessed with Hearthstone Battlegrounds this week and have been climbing the rankings. There is an event going on with quests that make it really fun right now.
Please tell me how you get that dataā¦
Though I am not sure I want to knowā¦.
Ha! Careful what you wish for!
Itās in the Xbox iOS app; go to your profile (right most lower button), click achievements, click the game icon and youāll see all of your achievements; click stats up top and itāll show you total time played.
Brilliant!
I am playing on PC
More great Bright Reappear dialogue. Missed an earlier opportunity to screenshot the Minotaur who said, āMoo! Iām really mad right now!ā
Does anyone have any recommendations for a local multiplayer game for a road trip? Iām talking local, not pass and play, without wi-if. I know Ticket to Ride does it, but Iām not sure of what other games.
I just got back from a big road trip through South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana. In keeping with the Western theme, when I got home I rented Red Dead Redemption 2 from the libraryā¦

and was immediately bored out of my mind. Every last thing in that game is a slog. It doesnāt help that the tutorial scenario literally has you slogging through a blizzard but come on! - I had to search a house and every button push took at least a 1-second hold. Gunplay wasnāt quick, moving wasnāt quickā¦. I was very disappointed.
Sorry to hear you didnāt enjoy it. Itās the regular rockstar formula after the tutorial. Open world with missions dotted through it, a series of storyline missions to unlock new things or move the story on.
Itās just the setting that makes it great. If the formula doesnāt work for you, I doubt the setting itself will get you there.
Itās the setting Iām most interested in. And I liked the first RDR. Perhaps Iāll put more time in to it at some point.
How good is South Dakota?
There is something that just captures the American spiritā¦. By looking at a sacred site and deciding to engrave the presidents in 300ft carvings
South Dakota is barren until you get to the Western edge but there is quite a bit of natural beauty in the Badlands National Park and Custer State Park. Nothing compared to getting out to the Rockies but unique in its own way.
