Ooh, I kind of miss FTL. Maybe that’ll be next on my “games I’m revisiting instead of cutting down my backlog” tour when I finally tire of Dream Quest. Only 7 DQ achievements to go …
I did also get SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech when it went on sale last week (I think). Been playing that on the phone and enjoying it quite a bit.
I didn’t pull the trigger while it was on sale just because I have plenty of games to play, but I’m still ever so close to impulse buying it. Good, you say?
Thats a Volume one...so it implies a Volume two…will we get a Makai Kingdom Port with the updated story localized as well? A La Pucelle Ragnarok port? A Disgaea D2 ( A brighter Darkness not Disgaea Number 2) port???
Am slowly working through doing the same thing on FTL snotty. It’s a real long but fun slog, because the B ship is unlocked by getting two achievements for each A, which can take quite a few run attempts. For me personally it also means potentially abondoning some otherwise victory looking runs just because I’m sure I won’t be able to get the achievement I’m after along the way.
I guess I really need to bite on FTL, given how much I adore Into the Breach. I actually bought it already, it was like $3.49 on Steam a while back. But I so rarely play video games on the computer; really, I haven’t used anything but my phone, the Switch and the Retro Duo Portable 2 for quite a while.
Yeah, I like it—haven’t gotten super far, but a deck-building spin on the usual SteamWorld formula is fun. I almost bought it on Switch a few times, then held off when I saw the mobile announcement, and somehow managed to wait for a sale. It plays well on the phone, too, which is not something I can say about every card game.
In my rampant unsuccessful Playstation 5 purchase frenzy I had bought yet another Early Access game on Steam and boy are these 2 Early Access games black holes to suck you in. Dyson Sphere Program is a blast, but Valheim is also a beast. Just after Science-fiction settings are nordic/Norse mythology settings in my most beloved settings/worlds (I am highly bored by High-/Low-/Epic-Fantasy settings in stark comparison).
So while No Man Sky is my all-time favorite Survival/Exploration game, Vallheim comes in a close second. Unbelievable that this early access game by 5 people can be such a blast. Then No Man Sky, Dyson Sphere Program, and Per Aspera are done by small teams as well.
Valheims’s Survival “lite” setting is nearly perfect for me. I died often enough (due to carelessness and overextending) without needing to worry about starvation or thirst…and the low poly world / high fidelity weather effects work beautifully.
If you ever need a (coop-friendly) game for building/exploring survival, Valheim has you covered. Don’t let the graphics fool you, the game is a marvel!
After milking Meteorfall Journey for everything I could, I decided to pick up Krumit’s Tale. Maybe it is just growing pains/learning curve, but I don’t think I like it as much. I don’t feel as closely connected to my character/build as I did in the original game.
Yes, I agree that it is deeper. And it is by no mean bad (though some of the animations are…off putting). It just hasn’t gotten its hooks into me like I was hoping. I’ll keep playing, though, and see if it sticks around.
Still FTL, after the Dapper Pawn write-up, aiming to win with new ships. Finally managed it with the Swallow on Normal on the fifth attempt, and got a new high score as a Bonus.
