Did not know this. I have it (and liked it a lot) on Switch and now will have to go back and replay it…not that I really remember the ending that well, truth be told : /
@Mirefox Abalon is not mind-blowing by any means, but it blends elements from several different kinds of games, and it’s easy to get into at the end of a long day, as the strategy is not very heavy, honestly. The graphics are pleasant too. As you progress, you unlock different classes to try, which is what kept me around for a while.

Interesting all the different games played mentioned here.
Although I had it installed for about a year since it had been released on iOS, I finally booted up Slice & Dice, and then proceeded to play that daily for like 3 months straight. Found it so interesting particularly with all the game modes.
Recently been hooked on the Aeon’s End iPhone release and don’t see that letting up any time soon.
868-Hack has made a bit of a comeback. Such a brilliant game. Michael Brough is a genius. I hear he’s working on a sequel.
Into the Breach and Dream Quest got some runs too.

I took the question as best game released in 2025, but if I go by what I played most and/or enjoyed most Balatro makes my list as I never played it on any platform until around July 2025.

somehow I ignored the Steam sale and decided to jump back into WoW for the first time in years. (it might be because I was RIF’d recently and now have a few months of severance to play games look for a job)

Threes and finity always get a daily play or so, even after all these years. I’ve been playing a ton of Deep Space Galactic Survivor or whatever that mouthful of a game is called, and really enjoying it. I think iOS wise the other 2025 game getting some play time is Dredge. Also Saiku, that game has been eating up way more time than it deserves.
Switch 2 has seen a lot of Hades 2 play, and some Civ 7 although I have to admit to hating the new leader each age mechanic.

I beat Ivalice Chronicles today. Such a satisfying experience. The best game ever, made better.
Now I’ll take a year or so off. Then promptly come right back. Maybe it’s time for another Ramza and monsters run. Or some good randomizer fun. Could even be time for another Straight Character Challenge.

TR-49, Inkle’s latest playable-novel-puzzle thing. I’m just over 10% in as you can see, and am thoroughly hooked. Atmospheric microfiche archive diving may not sound promising, but it works. It’s been compared to Obra Dinn, and I also get The Room vibes from it. Recommended so far.

Got this close to finishing TR-49 tonight and probably would have if I didn’t need to get up early for work tomorrow. Fantastic experience.

Played the demo for too many hours, and now the game is out. Very happy.

Menace has got great bones. Very playable, looks great. I cant wait to see what they do with it during early access. I expect I’ll play until what is currently the last achievement, then wait to play the full release.
