Agreed on the graphics, definitely an immediate turn off
This is why I like Wildfrost - these rogulike deck builders are a dime a dozen these days so one that tweaks the formula is always welcome. The positioning and countdown timers make this a fresh spin on the genre.
Fights in Tight Spaces. I like this more than Slay the Spire; the 3D battlefield and turn-based card combat reminds me of the halcyon days of Metal Gear Acid. The ‘level’ layer is perhaps not as well-balanced as StS, but the battles are deeper.
That game looks cool. I’ll have to look in to it.
Acid was one of those games that was too far ahead of its time. Great game that would have done a lot better in today’s market.
That is exactly why I bought this game. It’s not as good as MGA, but it’s very good at what it’s trying to do, IMO.
I wish they’d port MGA to Switch.
This looks like the intro to Casino Royale.
I’m playing a game. Guess the genre. I’ll give you some hints. I created a character and set its archetype. When I play, I level up. I can allocate points to different stats. I also earn gear that I can equip as well as attachments for said gear. Gaining favor with different factions can earn me more gear as well as cosmetics. I can spend the money that I accumulate in shops for more gear and cosmetic items.
Did you guess PGA Tour 2K23?
I think every game is an RPG nowadays.
I am unfortunately waiting on the iOS release…
Me, too. But it kind of feels like meta-procrastination.
Me three… everybody is talking about this game, but I stopped playing on any other platform than iOS.
I will buy it again when it launches on iOS, and then I’ll never get anything done because I’ll always have access to the game.
Oh god… hype me more
This is a tad late but in preparation for the soon™ launch of Homeworld 3 I am running through my second favorite PC game franchise again. I ALSO had a problem with the Launch of HW: Deserts of Kharak BUT I left it on “not responding” after clicking START (on Steam) and went for an “I am very frustrated” bowel movement instead of panic-clicking or killing the process in task manager. It took me a while but after I returned the game was on the Start screen. After that, I started it several times without problems (it still takes about half a minute or so in “not responding Nirvana”).
Sure you may have another problem altogether with your gog version but this seems like something I encountered a lot before on other games. They try to run some garbo-junk launcher or whatever, cannot get it to work and after twiddling their silicon thumbs for a while shrug and start the next process in line (which is the fallback(?) solution and in this case the original executable?) I don’t care for MP so I have not tested it out if that is now disabled, however.
Sounds unconvincing? Yeah, I understand…but I have anecdotal evidence (glares at Stellaris and other paradox interactive-published games in general)
Next time I feel like getting frustrated I’ll download it and let it sit for a while.
For some reason, on my PC iTunes takes about 5 minutes to open so I guess Homeworld Deserts may be the same.
Newly addicted to Hero Realms for a while. I came across @TheDukester there by chance. Great game.
Solid game and solid app. I prefer Hero Realms at the table to Star Realms, but they latter is still the better app.
Really? I have close to 20k games now in Star Realms app, but I think the newer Hero Realms app is much better. I was talking to them about the apps at Pax East last month, and the only reason they have not migrated the Star Realms app to the Hero Realms build is that it would be a huge undertaking and probably not pay off.
I love both games, but Hero Realms has been my fav lately, and I especially like how the digital game is progressing beyond the card game with new heroes.
It’s more that Star Realms had so much more content.
Don’t get me wrong, Hero Realms is great.
