Westworld season 3 isn’t even Westworld. I could be a cool sci-fi show; we will see. But it isn’t the same show anymore.

We’re 4 episodes into Homecoming. Thanks for the recommendation! It just keeps drawing you in with no idea if there’s a twist or what might be coming up. Very well done series that justified the price for Prime IMO.

Really liked season 1, never watched season 2. Curious what’s different…

That ventures way into spoiler territory. IGN may have a review of the first episode that explains it. Or I can send you a message. The setting alone is a spoiler so I won’t say much here.

I’m enjoying it so far. Not Westworld per se, but still great characters and sci-fi

Ah…I usually don’t give a shit about spoilers unless it’s Sixth Sense kind of unforseen twist, but I understand not wanted to post it out in the open. I just read a review of the 1st episode and it seems like there’s no wild west setting anymore…so, I’m glad I stopped watching.

Just finished Season 1 of Altered Carbon. Really interesting, and really weird.

And lots of nudity.

But I liked it over all.

Just started Altered Carbon, and have the same opinion so far.

Finished up Homecoming, and thought it was very damn good. If any of the other series on Prime are this good I’ll keep the subscription running for sure.

Couldn’t get into Altered Carbon. Classic case of the books being WAY better than the show was. Think I gave it to episode 6 before going oh, ffs…

If you like the show, the books - Altered Carbon, Woken Furies, and I think there’s a third, plus their spiritual successor Thirteen by the same author are highly recommended

Same. A straight adaptation of the book would have been a sight better. Bizarre.

Funny, I thought the show was a great adaptation of the books, giving us the universe and a lot of story lines lifted from the book, but enough of a new story where I was getting new content. I have read all three Kovacs books like a few times each even.

Interesting to hear! Maybe I’ll have to give it another chance

Watching Black Summer again. There’s another season coming so I thought I’d get back into it. I love how good the series is, the camerawork in the first episode is some really excellent stuff, and the way characters are brought in and killed off ruthlessly is superb. Even things like filming in moving cars, which films regularly cheap out on because it’s a pain to do, is done, and done really well. There’s some real stupidity, especially towards the end, that undercuts how grounded it feels, which is most unfortunate.

Tales from the Loop. Not far into this, but it’s different enough from most current offerings to stand out. I wasn’t expecting much, given it’s inspired by some art, but I’m impressed by it’s steady pace and character-driven nature.

Giri / Haji on Netflix - one of the best things I have seen in a while. Just one 8 episode season, and it is just great.

Just remembered many years ago, I started Continuum but never finished it. I’m all caught up on Travellers, so thought I’d hunt down something similar for time crime vibes. Anyone remember Continuum, does it hold up, how are the later seasons, etc?

I’m casting about for stuff to watch really. What about V? Was that any good? And there was another similar series, secret alien invasion, maybe Canadian?
