Is it the lack of notifications? Our Table (4) also has not started yet.
The game can be quite long and if it is that tedious to get the turns going, I’d rather opt out from my side…. I’ve been on the fence regarding this game anyway
Edit: just wanted to add that the rant has absolutely nothing to do with my friends on the table. It’s just a general sense of frustration regarding games that take so long, because of notification issues, with the need to actively remind people to take their turn after a while.
I haven’t started a table—didn’t have you on my friend list and was too lazy to ask during my typical holiday chaos. I don’t see that username when I search for it. I see HolstenKnight with no dash, and I sent a friend request, but obviously you wouldn’t have accepted it if that’s not you. Can you send a friend request to mgeiger9?
Good game, @Mirefox and @Codington. I had the Geodens and did well getting a variety of planets, so moved up two of the research tracks. We all pretty much tied for end-game scoring (expand into most sectors, and get the most structures in Federations)
I really messed up that final round, including a tragic mistap to deny passive power gain which would have lead to a decent size swing. It was a fun game until those last few turns though!
Gg @kennfusion & @Codington! Tight game here, thought I had a chance to get back in it on the last round but couldn’t quite make it happen. Shouldn’t have charged so much power I guess…
A hard drive to the finish by @Schlotzky and a narrow victory for me despite a fairly big last round as well. @kennfusion was definitely in the hunt for most of the game too. GG!
GG @Schlotzky and @Codington - I miscalculated a few things and thought I could get two more federations in, but as I said, I kept getting my math wrong.
I like this game, but, it still confuses me a lot. I really am going to need to take time some day and play against the AI a bunch.
For sure - managing power is still a tricky aspect for me. Plus remembering things like power is needed for satellites and keeping track of research and federation tiles etc. Lots of things to keep straight, which is both part of the fun and sometimes the challenge/frustration.
I like that the game incentivizes the research track much more than TM’s magic track. In TM I ignore the track far too often to my detriment but GP makes investment in the tracks much more interesting if not more important.
That’s a shame, you were playing Ivits brilliantly. The game assigned a bot to take over for you. @Codington, should we continue or restart? We just started round 4.
after the mistap the “do you really want to surrender?” textbox didn’t come up.
instead after some time: “save the replay?”.
what went wrong?
well, we had an internet blackout just in that crucial moment.
so i guess the “do you really want to surrender?” question couldn’t come through to me and the connection loss was taken as leaving the game.
indeed a very unlucky coincidence, but in the first place it was my mistap which opened the door to desaster and i’m ready to take it.
please continue the game as is. i don’t feel like wanting to start all over again.
i was so deeply involved in THAT game and making plans for future turns.
a new one wouldn’t be the same.
good luck to you both for the rest of the game.
