I don’t see how you guys bought all those buildings, and also your battery is low.
My first three buildings were the Marketplace, the Fishery and the Abattoir, and I kept going back to the Marketplace, to get wood and clay, plus whatever else I needed. That really accelerated early growth. Also, the Bank helped a lot for scoring, because I focused on Industrial and Economic buildings later.
GG to both.
Table 4 complete - a close finish between @Schlotzky and @JHTaube but, with all due respect to both of them, this was my game to lose and I did so in a spectacularly catastrophic fashion…
Somehow I lost track of Loans (in part, I think, because all the juicy buildings kept coming up) and managed to turn 213 points of wealth into a mere 129. Wow.
I will say that my opponents did a good job of putting the screws to me at the end by snapping up the good ships that might have allowed me to get out of the hole I had dug for myself… especially @Schlotzky BUYING the 24 value Steel ship which I didn’t see coming at all!
In any case, congrats to @Schlotzky! (Unofficial rematch? )
Gg to you both! I’m up for a rematch as well.
Yeah I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop with all the loans and massive amount of buildings that @Codington had built up. The ship purchase was aimed at throwing you off so glad I wasn’t completely off base there.
Update on Table 1 progress: we’re about to start round 12.
We did end up playing possibly the longest game on the list during the shortest month of the year…
To be clear: I fully expected Le Havre to take a good 6 weeks for all tables to complete.
Gaia Project and Through the Ages may well be the same.
Fortunately, 10 games in 12 months gives us some buffer room…
Table 1 is on round 15, getting closer. I’ll be out of contact for the next day or so, just a heads up.
Good game @HostileApostle @whovian223! It seemed fairly neck-and-neck with HostileApostle, so I think the margin is a bit flattering. Building towards the luxury liner paid off.
Gg both of you!
I don’t want to overcomplicate anything but we are scheduled to play Wingspan next. With the expansion on the horizon would it make sense to bump it to later in the decathlon?
I’m on board with that suggestion.
Agree
I’m fine with that and thanks for bringing it up!
I’ll take a look at the order over the weekend and let people know what the new next game is so we can potentially get some practice in while we wait for Le Havre to finish.
Table 7 is all wrapped up. I clearly don’t understand how to play. Good game, though! Sorry I gave no competition.
Nice work! The classic Buildings vs Ships battle!
