Yeah, I did read that. Will mention that in the review if I feel the same way.

But have to experience it first!

I’m not sure what you’re playing on, but if you see this game on an iPhone I hope you mention in your review the absolutely ugly borders that DWD is putting in all their games. I have a hunch they do it as a way to deal with the iPhone front cameras and swiping up to close app, but they take what is a good-looking production and destroy it by adding borders on 3/4 of the edges. Some, like in Clank!, are horrific. They’ve even patched this in to older games like Everdell, completely killing the attractiveness of the game. I know it sounds like a minor thing but it is a huge step backwards for a company that used to have some of the best-looking apps on phones.

I play on iPad unfortunately. But remind me of this when we’re done and I’ll put it in.

For the record, this is what I’m talking about. Root hasn’t been changed yet, but Everdell was. Note that the splash screen on these games are still full-screen.

Totally fair. And I didn’t even realize you were writing a review, so wasn’t trying to influence!

Invite accepted - look forward to the game!

I don’t see the game anymore.

Started another one. Password is stately

I’m in. They really need to give these games more time.

Match started!

GG! I got smoked. I got way too focused on getting the elk pattern.

@Codington is right that asynch does little for the game as it really just becomes a solitaire turn every day or so, so I’d say that asynch isn’t a reason to pick up the game but if you like the game, asynch is a nice option to have.

@Mirefox @whovian223 - did either of you get a screenshot? Epic fail from DireWolf still on completed games across most (all?) their apps…

In this game’s case, the usual problem was exacerbated by the fact that I had our game open on my phone previously and then when I loaded the app from the notification I got kicked out to the menu and the game had vanished.

It really isn’t that hard to add one more state step to a game to confirm everyone has seen the result but sadly that doesn’t seem to have landed over at DireWolf.

Shoot, I didn’t. You won, though. Maybe @whovian223 will grab one if he hasn’t checked in yet.

I haven’t checked in but will do so tonight.

Thanks for testing it out with me!

The Isle of Cats has released on iOS from Dire Wolf. It is $10 US.

I’m actually surprised with this release, first because it comes so hot on the tails of Cascadia and second because I assumed Ark Nova was next since it’s been in early access for a while. I think Cats just released on Steam recently.

Sadly I didn’t see it. I had a turn in another game and that may have overridden it (since I did see a ā€œthis game has ended, see the results?ā€ notice as well)

I was just browsing the board games at Barnes & Noble and they had Tanto Cuore, lol. I never would have expected that and I almost bought it for the novelty.

French Maid Dominion?

Yup. Also the one app I was actually embarrassed to play in public.

I’ve been playing Ark Nova in early access and am really enjoying the game.

It’s well done and on par with Dire Wolf’s other offerings. The tutorial, split into three parts, does a good job of building on things and doesn’t overwhelm at first. I understand the game a lot better than I did from watching videos and playing on BGA.

It’s a bit of a graphics hog, believe it or not, on my 2018 i5 work pc (no macOS support yet so can’t try it on the MacBook Pro). Once I dropped the graphics to medium it got a lot less stuttery and runs better.

ETA: I’ve only been playing against the AI so far and it seems competent

I eagerly await this one. I know there are other heavy games on iOS but I often feel like there aren’t any good alternatives to TTA but this one will fill that role.
