Wait, what happened with Homeworld mobile? Did it soft launch somewhere and suck? Or was it canceled?
It soft launched here in the UK, or at least I got in on the early access on mobile somehow, canāt remember. It just put the same taste in my mouth as EAs Dungeon Keeper on mobile, loads of F2P mechanics and camera controls that fought with the fleet controls. Uninstalled it after a day.
Think it had roughly the same plot setup as what Iāve gleaned from the HW3 trailer, except they were setting all the newly formed factions off against each other.
It wasnāt the same development team as HW3, they outsourced it to some other studio that has done F2P empire battling games like this before.
Gross
I didnāt know thatā¦WTF F2P?
This is insane!
Without fanfare, Maricaibo is on the App Store.
Steam Winter sale begins tomorrow.
And playstationās wintersale the day afterā¦sigh
Continuing the sales announcement, the completely expected iOS sales are dropping for all the games that you either own or have had years to own but havenāt gotten yet. Acram, Asmodee, etc.
Can anyone comment on the state of SmallWorld on iOS? Iād like to possibly recommend it to some friends but Iām concerned about the Asmodee factor. Can we add friends, start asynchronous games without all being online, get notifications, and see the final score? Itās sad that I even have to ask about these things but, well, Asmodeeā¦
Gaia Project is $4.99 right now on iOS. Thatās a good discount not too long after release.
Bought! I kind of bounced off of it on the table, but $6.99 (Yay, Canadian exchange rate!) isnāt too bad to make sure boardgame apps are made.
$7.99 Aussie :).
Bought!
I wouldnāt normally look twice at an iOS game called Gem Wizards Tactics but it just released on iOS and is from Keith Burgun, so it is likely worth a look. A little pricey for for me for an impulse buy, so if anyone has any experience with it, let us know.
Mostly positive reviews on Steam but I donāt know anything about it either
I mean according to whomever wrote the description for the game (Keith?) it is a āone-player tactical masterpiece.ā
How can you go wrong if you already know it is a masterpiece?
Ha, Iām sure he wrote it.
Looks kind of like Auro and Advance Wars mashed together, from the few descriptions/reviews Iāve read. Iām in the same spot as Mirefoxāinterested, but itās not an impulse buy.
Ah, good olā Keith āI Invented Games and I Know Way More than You!ā Burgun.
Hard pass.
I think my issue with his games, take Auro Bump, where he clearly has some interesting ideas but terrible support as heāll have already moved onto a new project before he ever finishes his last one.
Iāve heard good things about this game, but Iām not sure how I feel about Outline developing it ā¦
