King of the Hill - Multi-Game - 3-Player - League

Challenges accepted :slightly_smiling_face:

@Codington just checking in, how is the game progressing?

We are in Age III with possibly only a few more rounds to go. Wars and Aggressions and Colonies have slowed us down a bit lately but things are moving along.

game will be over soon.
no matter what the outcome i want to announce a change on my games list.
i felt a bit tired of TTA’s meta with so many wars and aggressions and want to take it off my list.
(yes, i was the worst warmonger but…never liked that.)

updated list:

Brass
Gaia Project
Concordia
Castles of Burgundy
LeHavre

I assume you are not going to win?

:man_shrugging:
the final evaluations can bring many surprises.
but itm it doesn’t look so bad for me.

Ok, we only change lists after losing. So I will make this change if you lose this game. If you win, you can’t change until you next lose. The King cannot change their list.

Actually nobody can change their list until after they lose a game.

oh oh…

Gg @JammaTal and @Codington! And of course congrats to our warmonger Jammatal!

And we have a new King, congrats to @JammaTal.

This is the 6th person now to have been King. And our next challenger is @SpiceTheCat, will he make JammaTal’s reign a short one and take the throne next?

@SpiceTheCat you need to challenge @JammaTal to one game from his list:

Through the Ages
Concordia
Castles of Burgandy
Gaia Project
Brass
Yellow and Yangtze

Once you have selected the game, I will let you know who the 3rd player will be.

@Codington and @JMH.75 you may make changes to your list if you so chose to now. Sorry @JammaTal, the King cannot change their list.

let me guess.
Spice loves Y&Y. and Brass. and is strong in both.
so…

Kudos and GG to @JMH.75 and especially ā€œpoorā€ @JammaTal who had no choice but to crush Gandhi to steal 27 points. (And he didn’t enjoy it for one minute… :stuck_out_tongue: )

Truth be told this was one of those games where I fell behind early (except in points) and could never quite seem to get the cards to claw back. That’s TtA for you!

As always, I appreciate the game though - and the practice for the Decathlon!

[Edit: while I’m tempted to drop the apparently unloved/unknown Isle of Skye, I think I will keep my list the same…]

choice would have been to let you win (with 161-152-149).
because i could and wanted to win that was no option but the crushing itself really wasn’t so much fun.

btw i even got a dubious achievement for ā€œ20th Century Stigmas.
You won a game where you played two wars and seeded the Cold War event.ā€

not to speak of my 4 (or 3?) aggressions.
the warmonger meta seems the most promising approach for being successful in TTA.
it was played in all my last 5 games by one or more players, and always for the win.
has TTA a serious meta problem? is the game one-dimensional?
i guess it’s all about the details and possible mixed strategies.
but one thing is for sure: seriously falling behind in military is not recommended.

Great!

@JammaTal is right, I do like Brass and Y&Y. Tricky.

Ok, let’s play Castles of Burgundy

Of course I’m only joking as usual. You played a great game, as is also usual. I would have done the same thing if I could.

I feel like the meta has shifted away from wars and aggressions in the last year. It seems like most people have a good enough awareness of incoming wars nowadays, that you can’t ignore culture for the first two ages and pull off a massive War on Culture for the win in Age 3/4 anymore. I’ll admit, it has hurt my win ratio, as I haven’t done the best job adjusting to that yet…

@SpiceTheCat would like to make the Castles of Burgundy his seat of power if he takes the throne. Your third will be @Hardco for this next match.

Please send a challenge to @JammaTal and @Hardco and let me know once the game has started so I can mark the starting date

Game started :+1:
