@jason1002 has just informed me that heās jason1003 now on asmodee.
because i had a confirmed jason1002 ID on my asmodee buddylist the invite had gone to that (outdated?) ID.
no worries, i will create a new game just now.
Headās up on Terraforming Mars, I had been getting notifications regularly, but they stopped it appears. So will have to go back to checking regularly.
Thanks for the update - I was going to ping you today but hadnāt gotten around to it yet.
Iām fine to check the app regularly.
(And continue to hold out hope that it will take less than 10 years for Apple and devs to finally figure out those damn Game Center notificationsā¦ coming up on 8 years since GC was launched!)
Iām still getting notifications on my iPad
Just bought the same cards for the third time, but I think this time it counts. Quality implementation, this.
@SpiceTheCat see previous comments about checking for the ā!ā next to the game in the lobby before trying to take your turn. It is a bit annoying, but not as annoying as having to buy cards multiple times.
Also @kennfusion FYI Iām getting badges still too. Maybe try restarting your iPad? That sometimes seems to jog the iOS into showing notifications/badges properly again.
I am getting them sometime, but not always. It seems to be intermittent.
regarding notifications TfM is one of the most reliable games for me.
btw Race for the Galaxy must be a case of notification license dropped.
i guess Temple Games doesnāt make enough money with this old app to care anymore
TfM keeps saying itās my turn but when I login it doesnāt let me load the game. Itās the last turn- does that have something to do with it? IIRC there were issues with only the last player being able to see the final game state?
Thatās still true.
Only last player can see it. And no indication of who was which colour either.
I could definitely use another practice round of TfM if anyone is up for one
Wait, so there is no final state of the game? That does not make any sense.
Me too. Doing ok in the current practice game but not sure why. I can promise it wonāt be as apocalyptically bad as TtAā¦
the last player to go must take a screenshot of the final standings.
heās the only one who gets to see the scoring ceremony.
i prefer taking a screen capture video, but not everyone knows how to do it
Yeah, but that means if you are playing with random people, how would you know the final score? Seems like a fairly glaring problem.
Iām fairly convinced that when they play test over at Asmodee they sit around a table and assume that if it works for them there is will work for everyone else. Take, for example, Scythe - everyone has to be online at the same time to start an asynchronous game. We tried to get a game started here and literally had to send messages back and forth in this game forum to set our phone alarms for a certain time just to log in and start a game. Asmodee has a āthatāll doā attitude about their games and are clearly more interested in simply releasing the game than making sure it works with the simplicity and elegance that other developers have managed for a decade.
Fun fact: How many of you know/remember that Takenoko exists as an iOS app? Asmodee released it a couple of years ago completely broken and havenāt touched it since.
Sorry, discussions of Asmodee failures get me riled up. I sound like a broken record, I know, but the industry deserves better.
Count me in! I feel like it kind of clicked for me this time around, although I could definitely use some kind of overall strategy guideā¦
