They just announced on TA the starting heroes, plus named an extra one.
The Empire Captain.
The Wood Elf Glade Guard.
The Dark Elf Sorceress.
The Vampire Blood Knight.
Literally bouncing in my chair with anticipation. If I didn’t have several meetings on Thursday I’d be calling out sick to stay home and play this!
I can’t share any specific story but do know that one of the key point of the game is how much you can customize the heroes and give them basically any role you want.
Their system is really brilliant: elegant and powerful, yet really ‘simple’.

I plan on buying all the DLC day one… give me moar!
I’ll probably buy any character DLC immediately but hold off on quest DLC until I’ve gone through the main campaign.

@kennfusion, yes, US App Store. I’m EST if that matters at all? Runs great on iPad Pro 10.5, obviously, and loaded smoothly on iPhone 6, although I haven’t played it on the phone yet.

There are 3 warriors as DLC (a greatsword, a dwarf berserker, and some sort of high elf cleric), one region/quest DLC, and some bags of gold (were these really necessary to include?).
I really like that my hit % was around 70% for the first dungeon. That’s almost the inverse of WHQ1.
Are there difficulty settings that I missed? I’d probably play at “normal” and would certainly avoid permadeath.
Surprisingly little gameplay video out there at release. Hoping to see some extended play pop up in the next day or two.
Also, Shadows Under Reikland, eh? How about Shadows Over Bogenhafen?
