Last year we learned that several members of the Rodeo Games crew had gone and started another game company, Perchang. Their first, eponymous title was a fairly light twitch/puzzle game that was incredibly successful and seemed to close the door on any chance Rodeo might get the band back together and give us more classic mobile fare like Warhammer Quest or Deathwatch: Tyranid Invasion. Turns out a Rodeo reunion wasn’t necessary, as Perchang has announced a sequel to Rodeo’s Warhammer Quest, Warhammer Quest 2: The End Times.
Announced this morning, we know very little about what we can expect in the sequel other than what we can see in the released screenshots which, no hyperbole intended, are mind blowing. I mean the original Warhammer Quest looked pretty great, but part 2 is fully 3D with real-time lighting and a variety of tiles that its predecessor could have only dreamed of.
We also know that it’s coming to both iOS and Android in autumn 2017 which isn’t as far away as it sounds. Other than that, all we have is fluff, but it’s good fluff:
A cataclysm was prophesied to bring about the end of the Old World. Now the forces of Chaos have begun their final assault and the last stand is coming.Heroes from all races and lands are venturing forth. Sworn enemies standing shoulder to shoulder fighting the daemons of the apocalypse. Proud warriors search for powerful artefacts to aid their lords in the coming war. Sorcerers toil for untold power, while Witch Hunters seek to settle long held scores. Dark Elf Assassins fill ledgers in blood and berserk Dwarf Slayers topple the mightiest of foes.
These are the days of action and adventure.
These are The End Times.
Chilling. Or not. Again, I’m not really versed in Warhammer lore, so I’m just really happy to be getting a new dungeon crawler that will let me bash heads and manage my characters.
More screenshots below and, as usual, we’ll keep digging for more details and will pass them along as we get them.
