Standby for me please.
Nice try, pal! The standby list is for those not currently in one of my two games. But I admire your initiative!
Oh, ha! I did not really think it through. Yeah, I probably donât want more than one of the slow game anyway. I tend to play pickup games on the 12 hour time limit instead.
Great game, everyone!
I took a very early Culture lead, but @irishdomer08 was on my heels the entire game, dropping big Wonder after big Wonder to make up the difference (and playing the International Red Cross to near perfection!). I think irish would have walked away with the game, though, had @kennfusion not claimed the first Air Forces and I the second in the same round shortly after the start of Age III, each of us paying 2 Civil actions. The third one didnât appear until after the beginning of Age IV.
@Baelnor surprised me when he outbid me (via tie breaker; Iâd been saving military cards to win it!) for a Colony that provided Civil and Military actions. Although it was a blow to my engine (I never progressed beyond 5 C/3 M actions), I think it might have been more of a setback for BaelnorâŚ? It just felt like his engine went downhill from there.
Honestly, I was surprised kenn wasnât more aggressive towards me after he took the lead in Strength (my eyes bulged on the turn his Strength vaulted well ahead of othersâ!). But he had only 2 Military actions, so maybe he didnât draw Aggression and War cardsâŚ? His play was steady throughout, as I prayed he didnât have the cards to attack me.
Letâs face it: my Science was abysmal throughout. Losing the Acropolis to ruin (who played Ravages of Time, you bastard!? haha) threw a wrench in my plans to easily upgrade my Government throughout, so I never progressed beyond Monarchy. Since irish abducted some of my Population (I had only one remaining at the end), I really couldnât expand any further horizontally, and the lack of Science made it a challenge to expand vertically. So, low Population + low Science = an economy that petered out. I surely would have lost had there been an Age V!
I did not have war on culture cards, I just had the one aggression card. I was only planning on staying like 2nd for military power, so when I ended up so strong, I had not planned accordingly, so was not pulling enough military cards each turn. I am still really learning this game. I have about 15 games completed now.
GG all.
And put me on standby or in the next game, or wherever
Would it work if I sit out Mysterioâs Game Three and stay on the list for Mysterioâs Game Four? Thanks!
Might as well pop me down for another one when it is my turn
Iâm in
âMysterioâs 3rd Gameâ created! Note: Iâve changed the turn timer from âEndlessâ to âDefault Asyncâ.

Well played, @JMH.75! Bill Gates carried you across the finish line.
For those whoâve not experienced it, being stuck with only 2 Military actions for the entire game is not fun. Every time (I think Iâm remembering correctly) the opportunity presented itself for me to grab a tech that would increase them, someone else would grab it ahead of me. I take solace, though, that I scored the most Culture on 5 of the 7 Age III Events.
Gg All! Very close finish!
@Mysterio when @Baelnor attacked when it was likely I could defend, and did, it just made me open for attack from you, which I had no way to defend. It also allowed you to get ahead basically for free. I had basically no move on the subsequent turn, and then Baelnor attacked again, taking all resources again, and that left me with a 2nd turn in a row without really being able to get out of the hole.
At that point, there just is no way back, so instead of just feeding you both, the best move is to drop out. My guess is that my drop mostly hurts @Baelnor, who started the chain of attacks.
Yeah. The only reason I attacked was because you had burned all of your Military cards defending against Baelnorâs attack.
Maybe youâll give it another go in my 4th game!
You are right :(. I thought that first attack was a slam dunk, which would have given me something and left you able to defend against the others. I was surprised when you had the cards. Hence leading with the good attack and not the weak attack.
And yes, I am now behind in military a huge and stuck with Theocracy hehe. Live by the sword, and I wait to inevitably die by the sword
Well played, everyone!
What a game! From Age II to its conclusion, this game was, by far, the tightest one Iâve ever played. At least for me, each decision seemed to carry a lot of weight, because of how evenly matched our three empires appeared to be. It even featured a militant Gandhi!
Very tight! Gg!
Iâm in for another one
Iâll go again if you need some bodies!
cannonfodder is reporting for duty!
please take me in.
