If you’re like me, you have no friends and weekends are simply long stretches of not seeing other humans and, instead, binge-watching old Cheers episodes while binge-eating custard and sipping Boone’s Farm. Please don’t tell me that it’s only me doing that. I said please. Luckily, this weekend I can turn off the tube and, instead, play a little Talisman: Horus Heresy on my Mac because it’s gone free all weekend long.
Talisman: Horus Heresy is the Warhammer 40K themed cousin of the venerable fantasy adventure game, Talisman, which has a rather amazing digital port itself. The gameplay is similar in T:HH, moving pieces to make your way to the center of the board, encountering spaces as you land on them, and powering up your character as you go along. The difference is that T:HH is a team-based game, in which two teams are battling each other with the backdrop being the event that kickstarted the Warhammer 40K universe, the Horus Heresy.
Nomad Games has announced that Talisman: Horus Heresy will be completely free all weekend on Steam to celebrate the release of its latest expansion pack, Prospero. You can play as much as you want for nothing, and if you decide to purchase the game will be 50% off its normal price as well.
So, put away the custard (or frozen treat of choice) and turn off Netflix. Instead, check out Talisman: Horus Heresy and see if it trips your trigger.
