FYI there are at least a couple of pending releases / announcements that I’m aware of in the iOS board game world, so I’m going to wait until we start Through the Ages (Game 7) before kicking off the process to pick games 9 and 10.

TtA alone should give us plenty of time to nominate and vote ( :wink: ) and I’m confident TtA + Castles of Burgundy will allow for selection and some practice games before the as-yet-undecided Game 9.

Ooooh, what are these pending release of which you are thinking?

Recent activity: Everdell (release), Eclipse (update), Terraforming Mars (update + SP tournament)

Pending release: Munchkin (email went out this week)

iOS Beta and Steam: Dominion, Brass: Birmingham

(FYI one source here was https://www.pixelatedcardboard.com/upcoming-game-list/ - I’m not sure if someone here runs that or not! :wink: )

I’m waiting to hear back from an inside contact at Roxley as to whether Brass: Birmingham is actually going to be released on iOS or not (the Steam app had quite a few growing pains but seems decent now.)

Fleet was in beta ages ago but hasn’t actually been released on iOS as far as I can tell.

we are in the last round of our Eclipse test game and haven’t stumbled upon any game destroying bugs.
the new (for Eclipse that is) feature of a Bot taking over the position of an out-timed player worked flawlessly.
the new timer options are most welcome!
[the rigid 24hrs timer in combination with the first time-out blowing up the whole thing made the game nearly unplayable before.]
but still no friendly games (dev is thinking about password protection).

sorry to say that this disqualifies Eclipse for tournament play itm.
we had no problem to start a game with 4 determined SP’lers by announcing a time-stamp, but this won’t work for a tourney, i’m afraid.

Table 2 complete - thanks to @kennfusion and @doublebullout for the push to make sure we got this game in before I had to go offline for a week.

I think I have to chalk this win down to luck rather than judgment. I got a few crew members who all made monastery raids profitable for me. I’m still not sure I know how to play this game well though - is it all about the crew members?

The end of the game is triggered when 1 of these conditions has been met:

  • there’s only one Fortress space left to be raided
  • there are no more Valkyrie spaces left
  • there are no more Offerings left

All players, including the one who triggered the end of the game, get one more turn after the end of the game has been triggered.

(Giving the triggering player one more turn as well is similar to the bonus awarded in Concordia or other games to encourage someone to finish the game if they can.)
