My strategy in both games was to go for button wins, and I ended both games with 41 buttons.

I felt like I was behind for most of the game, with @feederofgoats going for a button heavy strategy. I had to takes some weaker pieces just to try to keep up with his income. Eventually, I got the opportunity to chain a few low cost/high value pieces to finally pull ahead in board position, and picked up the 7x7 shortly after that. By the end of the game @feederofgoats had double my income, but I still managed to squeak by with a narrow win.

Patchwork was much more fun than I remembered it to be. I had no idea who was winning in either of the games I played until the end (and couldn’t say for certain what I did wrong in my game against @Hardco or right in this one!) but the decisions each round were very satisfying. Glad we played it!

Nice work everyone - that wraps up event #9 in the Decathlon in less than two weeks!
I’ll post some info on Wingspan in the next few days and then share the penultimate standings and final table match-ups.
(Spoiler alert: 1st place for the 2021 Decathlon could come down to the wire!
