I am going to wait on D2, but will probably get it some day on deep sale. But only because I loved the Druid/Bear/Hurricane build.

I try to get the D3 Monk to work like that with Mystic Ally and Sweeping Wings, but not the same

You can respec now. You can do it one time for free per difficulty and you can farm bosses for materials to make something in the cube to allow a respec, though I don’t know anything more than that.

Great! The game has been on my want-to-play list for years but I’ve never had the chance. I’ll buy the app right when it drops.

I agree with you on the funko pop blitz game. They’ve got the core gameplay mechanic right, and given the match 3 formula a nice little twist with it being a blitz game. I’ve got no interest in the funko pop theme, but I suspect they’ll make bank from the people who are into that.

The monetization is sneaky. Every week they’ll have an event centered around some particular movie/cartoon/TV series. Say this week was themed around “Back to the Future”. You can participate using any ol’ character, but if you use 1 of the “Back to the Future” figures, you’ll earn bonus credit. When I first saw 1 of these events I thought, no problem, I already have a few different themed Docs and Martys, but, aha, not just ANY Back to the Future figures but these specific 4 models with the majority being figured just created for this event and thus will never be found in generic gacha draws but the super expensive gacha draws for figures just for this event. Still quite possible from grinding but even there, they got you, as not only are these gacha draws expensive, there is a HIGH probability you’ll only get a really basic (common) figure that isn’t likely to earn you many points, even if using him will get you some big bonus.

New Direwolf release, The Fox in the Forest, coming 10/18:

Anyone here familiar with this game?

Yeah, I really like it.

Definitely not one for async, though. It’s like Morels in that you’re just going to log in and play a card and that’s it.

Not that it won’t have async…just that it might not be very fun that way.

But it plays very quickly.

It is also one of those games that won’t cost much more than 2-3x at the table as opposed to digital, kind of like Love Letter, Lost Cities, or Tides of Time. That said, I think it is a great 2-player trick taking game and I could see it having a place on my device for anytime I am out or just too lazy to go to the table. You’re right that asynchronous turns wouldn’t be all that exciting but I’d love to have the option anyways, if possible. I play Lost Cities asynchronous with my wife and enjoy it.

On top of all this, the game looks really good and I can imagine Dire Wolf will make quite a pretty app for it.

Being Dire Wolf, I’m sure it will have asynchronous.

And hey, I won’t complain!

Cool, thanks for the feedback guys. I’ll preorder it.

Also, seeing a cool trick taking game come out makes me wish there was an app version of The Crew.

the excellent “Deathwatch: Tyranid Invasion” doesn’t load on my iPad Air 4 any longer.
an iPadOS 15.0.1 compatibility problem?
the same problem for anyone else?

If you haven’t checked out Railroad Ink Challenge in a while, the app recently updated with new daily challenges, which use different maps and rewards than the standard game mode. Nice update that’s gotten me to play the game more regularly in the past few days.

Can’t remember where I saw it, but I believe they’re planning to have the green and yellow expansions out by the end of the year.

I love the online challenge mode. The ability to incite friends to compare scores in everyone’s own time is great.

Had this same issue with Deathwatch on my Xs Max for years now. Deathwatch crashes on launch. Emailed devs several times and no response. I can’t believe they can get away with keeping the game on the AppStore actually.

Edit: well Warhdya know, it has finally been removed from the AppStore. Guess that finally says it then.

Has anyone played Rogue Hearts? Popped up in my apple suggestwd today…

oh my :disappointed:
again and again games keep disappearing from appstore, reminding us that it’s only a vague leasing model with very limited access and no guarantee.

the consequence? only playing FTP casual stuff on iPad and buying games on Steam only?
is iOS going down as serious gaming platform?

I posted my review of Neuroshima Hex this morning. Mentioned the online issues some of us have had (I’ve only had one game bug out, but it’s still annoying).

I fear it does. The last SERIOUS games I was looking for (besides Civ6) were released but not supported well (or updated with expansions)

Asmodee has a big sale of their stuff on steam now, if anyone is interested in their digital products.

I have the sense that apple is moving into a strong pivot away from focusing seriously on gaming and into putting a lot of effort into its streaming TV stuff.
