The new Deliverance expansion just dropped for Ascension. In addition to the expansion, the other expansions have all been bundled into packs that may save a couple dollars for anyone who doesn’t own most of them.
I found On Tour sterile enough to lose interest quickly. That’s Pretty Clever seemed very similar at first, but I kept playing another game, and another, for quite some time. That made me want to give Cartographers a try, as I hoped for a bit more thematic interest. It doesn’t really have that, but the spatial element has proven to be enough that I’m enjoying it more than I ever did the others.
I still think it’s not quite a genre that suits me ideally, but it’s good for passing time with little commitment.
I’m always up for trying the Deliverance expansion! Anybody hit me up.
Count me in for Deliverance games, too. mgeiger9 in-game.
Absolutely!
Definitely!
I’m also in for any and all Ascension games, JS619 there. And h/t @whovian223 for creating our Deliverance game before I had a chance to lol
Gaia Project has been released on Steam. Has anyone tried it, or would anyone be interested in giving it a go?
The whole Homeworld Franchise is 90% of on steam today until Thursday I think. If you want (one of) the best classic Space RTS games with great music and story, now is the time!
I’m tempted, but I think I have to wait for the iOS version. It’s over $20 CDN and I have a feeling that I will end up not really “getting” it and thus will play it once or twice.
iOS is supposed to be out in 3-4 months, I think.
How did you get on with Terra Mystica? Gaia project is essentially Terra Mystica 2.0, or more like a 1.5 really, they’re that similar.
It’s definitely better though. However if you didn’t get on with Terra Mystica I doubt you’ll find much different here.
I dont know about the app quality, just the boardgame
I’ve played Gaia on the table once. Never had another chance. As for the Terra Mystic app (and game), it’s not my favourite and I really suck at it.
Ooh, Frostpunk coming to mobile https://www.frostpunkmobile.com/. Excellent, was tempted by the original but I don’t have time for pc games any more as a rule, so mobile would be good.
Yeah, not so fast there, It will be free to play with two modes, Endurance (no microtransactions) and Serenity (with microtransactions). I feel my enthusiasm waning somewhat.
(Note that I refrained from every one of the temperature-related puns that came to mind in writing this post,)
Edit: tangentially, while I was looking this up I followed a link to the site currently bearing the Pocket Tactics name, read a couple of the flavourless articles and looked in at the dead forums. Then I had a sad and left.
Wingspan will be coming to iOS on July 20.
Can’t wait for that one! I like it on the computer but having it on my iPad will be very nice (and make it easier not to time out since it has a freaking 24 hour timer and then boots you!)
Cross-platform multiplayer too, which is nice.
Finally! Excellent game and I’ve heard some of the digital enhancements are great. As a bird fan, I look forward to the songs.
Did they ever add Hard AI?
I don’t play against the AI anymore, so I don’t actually know.
New inkle game released today, basically out of the blue:
The concept sounds fun. I personally don’t like text adventures as much as I feel I should, but Inkle games always catch my attention and this particular story might pretty crazy.
