@JaneHatke and I have also started a game yesterday. Let’s play it out
Play it out
Hardco over @jason1002 2-1
I continue to cheat my way through this tournament by convincing people not to play the base set in game three…
Personally, I prefer to play with at least two sets, never a single set. Ideally, I pair the base set with the 1st expansion, the 2nd expansion with the 3rd expansion, and so on.
I forget where I heard this, since it was a long time ago, but it was said that the base set and even numbered expansions are major sets, while the odd numbered expansions are minor sets meant to be paired with their n-1 major set.
I assume that only works for the first 6 Sets.
I have physical proof
The first 3 odd numbered Sets were BIG boxes, thei first 3 even numbered boxes were small boxes. The small boxes indeed compliment the big ones that came out just before in a way, so your argument holds true.
However beginning with box 7 I am not so convinced anymore. The lines blur and every set is very much a beast of its own…
Okay, far out, we’re close to the final stage.
One housekeeping note: we will not need to play the third-place match. I’ve been setting up the Grand Finals bracket, and it just struck me that the third-place match isn’t needed (there’s no seeding advantage to winning it or losing it). I’m not sure why I originally thought we’d need it.
So, once, @JaneHatke and @irishdomer08 check in, we’ll move on.
Excellent.
Go ahead and play for the group title, @Hardco and @JaneHatke.
But, again, we don’t need to play that third-place match; there is no seeding advantage for the Grand Finals.
Let us know as soon as that match is done. I’ve got the final bracket basically prepped.
Sorry, I forgot about the game and there was no reminder badge…
First time playing Delirium. I’m not a huge fan of the die roll mechanic, but it didn’t seem as unbalanced as some other sets… Good game @JaneHatke!
Oops, I forgot we were playing best of 3 in this tournament! To be continued…
Yeah, might as well make it official. Keep going, and let us know as soon as someone gets that second win.
Excellent.
Busy work day for me, but I’ll post the final bracket tonight or tomorrow morning.
Okay, here we go: Grand Finals.
Some of you might remember that I like a modified version of the McIntyre Final Eight system, and here it is again. The top four seeds are “protected” in the sense that they can lose their opening match.
The format remains the same: best 2-of-3. Player A invites once; Player B invites once; a third game, if necessary, is Chronicle of the Godslayer only.
Report results here, especially since Challonge does not handle this sort of bracket.
Begin … NOW.
Thank you for the good games. Game three had to be vanilla i thought.
Your last move in our first game was fascinating.
