Review: Civilization VI

Is there any way to buy the in-app purchase without actually installing the game at the moment?

I don’t think so? I’m not sure there’s a way to access the Iap without having it installed.

“In-app purchases” you can make without having an app installed are just “purchases”.

I’m assuming hardco wants to buy the game at the opening sale price, with the intent of eventually having an iOS 11 device. Without an existing iOS 11 device, how would you load the app to buy the ‘in app purchase’ of the full game

You don’t.

There are a couple of Ieper who are buying on from the Apple store with the intent on returning after purchase - same day or the next day.

I would expect the price of the iPad version to follow the Mac version which follows the PC version. So I’m guessing that the usual times for sale prices will happen (summer, winter, holidays etc etc etc)

I suppose I could have found a friend with ios 11 on an ipad, logged in on their device, installed and bought the in-app purchase, then logged out again. But instead I just gave in and installed ios 11 on my mini 2. In the couple minutes of use it didn’t seem any slower than before. It just means I’ll have to go digging in the basement for the CD-ROM if I want to play any Infocoms…

The only thing stopping me buying it is that they said they don’t know if they will be able to bring the expansion to iOS or not. Since I already have this on PC and I will buy the expansion the second it is released, after that I would stop playing it on iOS and it’s a bit too expensive for that. Still, almost bought it just to support it…

A reasonable fear…Space Hulk, Titan Quest (and nearly X-COM as well) went the same path of half-cocked porting…

It depends on the consumer’s vote with the wallet, which is this time a tiny bit difficult for some I believe ^^

Where are they saying that they’re unsure about the expansion?

“Q: What about DLC or the new Rise and Fall expansion?

A: We hope to support DLC and expansions in the future but cannot confirm timing or availability at this time.“

Massive sale on this jewel currently happening.

Main game discounted to lowly 15,99€ (~75% discount which is massive for the original asking price)

People like this exist?

With the initial price point? I believe there are - lots of em! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I went to check out the DLC and buy the one that’s on sale today…and discovered that I had splurged and bought them all already.

Probably during the last sale.

Any news about a sale for the switch version? And possible expansions for it?

Edit: Switch version is 20% off. It has 2 DLC which arent discounted.

sheepishly raises hand

Since I’m not really a PC gamer, I’ve never really gotten into Civ, and my old iPad won’t run it, so the question is whether I really want to play it on my phone …

I hope everyone who doesn’t have all the dlc has been getting in on the free dlc promotion. There’s 2 more to go, and one for free now. I couldnt often justify nz$9-15 for a scenario and a civ, but free is a price you can’t really beat

This sale is incredible!

This is a great deal for those I think who like to play Civilization, a few months back I also used to play
Civ 3 but did not able to finish the game. What other game are you guys playing currently, I know that RPG is the father of every game?
Well, I used to play Player unknown battleground on the PC itself. I also like to play a shooter video game.

Ok, the “bonus” leader of the “Gathering Storm” Expansion is Elanor of Aquitaine which is being used both by France and England with different resulting flavors/slight appearance changes…a stroke of genius or pure corporate greediness?

I am still not decided on that matter (especially as I am not too fond of playing either nation).
What I am still adamant about is that they could have released a TON more alternative leaders by now. They have a bazillion choices to pick from of half their current nations. Many of them were already represented in earlier Civ games, so why not go all out here?
