just that!
and you can see in my post above where exactly all 2nd division contestants will go to.
first two players will ascend to premier league
third will stay in 2nd division.
fourth will go to the waiting list.
I always wonder about the psychology of board games when you compare a winning situation as top 2 vs top 1. Does it change behaviour? For better or worse? I assume there is a risk appetite in play there somewhere tooā¦
Lucky I am not that competitiveā¦
you mean there might be a temptation of (too) easy satisfaction by just going through as runner-up?
each to his own i would say
i always want to play an as good as possible game in first place.
(all that āi love it when a plan comes togetherā stuff and so on)
so will always try to win, even when 2nd place would be enough to go through.
although when i have the feeling that i have done my best i can be ok with 3rd or 4th place too.
butā¦will be longing for the next match in order to improve my game
so yes, i canāt wait for the next title match. i want my trophy back!
what i have seen in my two running ranked games let my jaw drop down.
those opponents are surely true experts and are teaching me lessons.
i think we have only scratched on the surface in our challenge games.
good news! so much more to learn. so much room for improvement.
overwhelming new strategies to apply.
Go on @JammaTal, Iām properly useless at GP but only one way to (hopefully) change that - add me to the waiting list please
before the next season starts letās have a poll about playing with auction or not.
in all games with auctions all players got to play with their nominated faction.
so the auctions didnāt hurt but offered at least a chance to contend for favorite factions which had been chosen already by other players, esp when you are 3rd or 4th in player sequence.
so i like it, although i still have the feeling to not have fully understood how it works.
much more to learn about it (it helps to start a local game for trying out different auction approaches).
but letās see what most players will prefer.
my vote goes to > playing with auction <
i will wait on for some days to collect more votes.
In my last game, I did not play with the race I nominated I donāt think, I thought I took one someone else nominated. I think I nominated Terran and took Ambas, which I was fine to try, it was an interesting race I had not played before.
I still donāt think I understand what the auction is fixing though.
My preference is no auction. If at some point we get good enough for it to make a difference Iām fine with bringing it back.
so your vote is?
well, the auction can fix a disadvantage for 3rd and esp for 4th in player sequence when it comes down to choosing factions. if they feel totally uncomfortable with what is left for them to choose, they can bid on factions which had been chosen as first or second pick.
I guess since I donāt understand what it fixes, and I am not even sure exactly how it works, since I donāt think anyone seems to pay for anything, I abstain, as I donāt really understand what I am voting for.
@Schlotzky, @jason1002, @Baelnor, @JMH.75, @geigerm, @doublebullout, @Caradog, last call to post your vote for
auctions: yes or
auctions: no
no need to post if there is no preference for you.
itm the poll stands 1-1
No preference
No preference for me either
Auctions yes
I like auctions, but wonāt die in a ditch over it
No preference
No preference either
Not a fan of auctions, but I donāt have many games under my belt. Still trying to see the benefit.
