@JammaTal @Mirefox @SpiceTheCat Tried to post this in game but may have gone over max character limitation. Apologies if I’m slow to play over the next few days or drop out. We have a cyclone due to make landfall in around 12 hours. Estimated as about 40 Kms north but being in the southern hemisphere means the impact of follow up rain is significantly higher. Initial impacts already have major power outages and being in a flood plain, major flooding is a concern. If AI Jokermon does take over, hope it continues to fly the flag.
It is gone already. Can you retry?
Take 2! Same password
I joined the first time, but it’s not showing up in the list. Gone again.
so we have to try for the THIRD time!?
holy guacamoly!
Sry, time difference and returning from a ski trip is not a good combination for meeting the tight deadline of joining a Dune game. Let’s try again.
can’t see a game.
when it comes down to setting a game on rails the premier league is not on top level
i’m glad to be involved in other games (hooked by Sakaguchi’s Fantasian itm) so it doesn’t bother me much.
authorized by zen4one i wanted to jump in and invite all players per friendslist.
but to my big disappointment this can only be done when all players are ONLINE.
what a shitshow a la Scythe!
@JMH.75, @zen4one, @Dave, so i created a new PW game (Jammatal’s game).
(password: WTF)
Succeeded!
I must be an idiot (my w/l record across all games lends some truth to this), but I struggle so much with juggling multiple games. How do you guys do it? I never remember what, exactly, I’m trying to do.
I suspect I am probably on the heavier side of concurrent games at one time. So much so that I literally have to keep a spread sheet with all current games, and the players in those games so I don’t forget any.
Right now, in addition to the Dune Superleague game, I also just finished an Ascension game, I am in 2 different Star Realms leagues and usually have 15 games of Star Realms at a time, I have a Hero Realms league and usually have 6 games there at a time, but usually am leveling up a half dozen characters there also. I play 10 Dominion games at a time. I am in a Clank! league with one game a week, and often will accept most game invites from this group.
Not to mention I play Marvel Heroes daily, Hearthstone Battlegrounds daily and usually am also grinding in at least one ARPG (just finished the level 80 POE cosmetic bonus in POE 1 and am working on the Goblin event in D4 right now).
I don’t sleep a lot, so this helps with lot’s of time to play - but - I also take turns in game fast, which means I often don’t take time to look closely or remember what my strategy was, so every turn tends to be isolated in every game - meaning - I make a lot of mistakes that I would not make at the table and my win-rates suffer for it.
But - the constant need to take turns does something to satisfy my heavy ADD brain and it just fills the space that I don’t ever dare let get empty - bad things happen when I get bored.
I don’t have a problem with many different games at once, it’s when I have multiples of the same games. I’m only in 2 Dune games at the moment but even then I sometimes struggle to remember what my particular strategy is in any one of those games…
My phone is for stately play games - I keep my games easy access on my bar (see pic).
My switch is for gaming on the train - currently 40 something hours into unicorn overlord
My laptop is for steam/arpg - at the moment I have four games installed on steam - Reus 2 / Against the Storm / BG3 / Ara
I try to delete games I am not actively playing or enjoying - I also put MTG Arena on my phone to play whilst doing cardio/gym work
I have to keep these low otherwise I get frustrated and annoyed, losing time switching between stuff. The less o have, the more rewarded I feel. Happy to install and then remove a game for one off purposes
it’s a tough job indeed for multiple games of Dune.
always taking screen recordings and always reading the LOGs helps.
Dune does not survive in background (unlike all digidiced games like Gaia Project and Terra Mystica can do) so you must reload the game after having watched the replay.
at least the new fast-forward function helps to get back to your move in no time.
keeping the replays in photos can help in tough situations. then you can go back to former turns.
i use to watch the replay of the former turn before going into the actual one.
it may be a bit over the top, but imho it’s the only way to handle 3 parallel Dune games without losing control
GG! @Mirefox you failed me, I needed you to win that last battle, I think I could have won on the next turn
Yes, you may continue to believe that. I had … options …
The kicker is that I didn’t commit all my troops. It was not well played by me.
I’m not usually a bug report sort of guy; my default response to things happening in video games is either “I’m sure that’s right” or “Maybe I don’t understand the rules.”
But, man, did Dune: Imperium just blatantly screw me over. Not that I’m bitter about it …
