Voted, agree that’s a cool site.
Vored!
Looks like the incumbents get the chocolates….
The vote reminds me a bit of when I ask my kids what they want for dinner. I can give them all the options in the world but the answer is going to be pizza…
The raw data is fascinating. Brass is so polaraizing (I am personally one of the 2 bottom rank votes on it).
That is 19/20 who have voted…pretty good voter turnout!
Your comments seem reflective of a lot of politics….
Well, I see a couple of options - either we accept the obvious will of the people (12 of 19 put Waterdeep in their top 3 and no other game comes close) or we try a run-off with the top choices where half or more of them had people that put them LAST in their ranking.
The decision seems pretty clear to me…
So, my solution is this - we will play Lords of Waterdeep for Game 9 (and there was much rejoicing) and Game 10 will be reserved for the result of another vote where “candidates” must not have been played in a previous Decathlon.
Oh, I’m fine playing Waterdeep; the choice certainly surprises me, though, especially since we just got done with a family weight worker placement.
We do love our worker placement games here! I’m not too surprised we will end up with 1/3 or even 40% worker placement (depending on game 10) games in the tournament.
At least we will have played Through the Ages and Castles of Burgundy before we get to Waterdeep.
PS. Also Raiders was new to the Decathlon and seemed to be well received, so I’m hopeful we will see it back!
Good call on Raiders - I am glad that made it in.
Maybe next cycle we do a couple of slot to new?
Raiders, Gaia, and Le Havre were all new to Decathlon and now game 10 will be as well.
Personal victory condition met!
Wow, nice work!!!
Didn’t realise Le Havre never got a run before, that game is amazing
Has anyone played Mystic Vale? It’s on sale on the App Store so I picked it up today but don’t remember it being mentioned on forums or anything. Is it good? Does it have async? Inquiring minds want to know!
(I’ll start that Google Sheet for tracking async iOS games soon, I promise…)
It is quite good but it does not have asynch. As far as I know, no Nomad games have asynch.
Other Nomad games: Smash Up, Talisman, Fury of Dracula.
Will we use the expansion for LOW?
Recommendation is Base + Skullport but each table can choose as always.
Main thing is usually to not make it a Long game since we have enough trouble getting through a game in a month as it is.
Tangentially, I’ve just noticed that members with the Regular badge (all 11 of us at the moment, just got mine) can mark their posts as “wiki” which means anyone can edit them. Instead of a Google sheet, we could have an editable thread here to track games, a post per game.
Yeah, I was trying to work that out… something like a “Geek List” but editable so people could update current status would be ideal… could do it with a Google Sheet still so we can share it around to other sites, but I’m also fine to “require” people to come to SP to see it.
Ok, it’s about time to pick game #10 - I’ll pull together the list from above but if there are any other NEW games (have not been in the Decathlon before) that people have been enjoying async lately, please post here!
