Current Warfairs

Logistics, logistics, logistics.

Note that both articles predate the invasion.

Russian attempts at changing The Narrative continue to be abysmal.

Hundreds of millions of dollars in SAM kit alone, just left for the Ukrainians in perfect working order. Even if the Ukrainians don’t use it themselves, they can get IFF codes from the systems. If they do use it, they easily have enough vehicles to reinforce their own SAM umbrella and make it a fucking nightmare for Russian air support. Considering the amount of planes shot down recently, I’d say they are.

Excellent article, thanks. Putin’s overarching goal in all of his previous military actions has been to restore Russian national identity and glory by reversing the collapse of the Soviet/Russian Union/Federation. If protracted stalemate is the future in Ukraine, I just find it very hard to believe that he won’t resort to a tactical nuke in a desperate attempt to win. The rhetoric on both sides has ramped up to the point where a negotiated settlement will not satisfy him.

For updates and commentary, I’ve been following this thread on the Combat Mission: Black Sea Forum on the Battlefront forums of all places. The BF team is based in Ukraine and the posters have a fair mix of informed readers who have been calling the progress of the war quite accurately. Currently at 545 pages - I started reading when it was in the 300s.

It is no big deal to lose a nuclear-armed ship, I am sure.
Watching drone-spotted mortar fire kill Russians on Facebook.

Speaking as an amateur: missiles like these were intended to be used as a sort of stopgap/last resort measure for units able to call up plenty of other AT/AA assets; in Ukraine, these are weapons of, if not first, then second resort, and are seeing pro-active use as a result. Their expenditure is necessary and effective, but also comes with usage and wastage levels that are inevitable and unsustainable given their previous use case.

Don’t threaten me with a good time.

Alert Hank Johnson.

In all fairness, Hank Johnson never claimed that Guam would sink, just that it would tip over…

It is my deliberate joy to announce both Sweden and Finland will join NATO.

The Finns especially are a fucking hard nut, and Russia doesn’t have the forces to crack them even if they weren’t involved in Ukraine.

I’m sure the rest of nato will be able to convince Turkey to let Finland and Sweden in. I’m curious as to what concessions will be given to Turkey to stop them vetoing the new members.

I’m sure Turkey won’t take much to grease the wheels of diplomacy, but I’m still interested as to what they’d get
