We were out to dinner last night and my buddy and I decided being president is the equivalent of getting the Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. You have this cool toy you can blow shit up with, despite the fact that youâll put your eye out.
US presidency is the same thing, just with bigger toys and more eyes.

So, I donât understand the US v Iran thing. How does this one actually end? Trump is clearly living in a parallel universe, and is wedged. He canât give Iran anything because he will appear weak at home, and he canât continue because it appears weak at home.
Like, is Iran going to do what the Democrats/Jan 6/RoevWade/pussy grabbing/Epstein couldnât?
No. For this to matter much, it would need to make conservative media turn on him. They canât explain (and maybe canât confidently understand) the strategic mess heâs made, and killing the Iranian leader likely seems to them like a big win.
Possibly the economic consequences will help provoke big enough losses in votes for Congress to overcome the SCOTUS-led gerrymandering bonanza, but the structure is too biased to have any hope of successful impeachment or invocation of the 25th Amendment. Without impeachment or any way to fix the court, he can largely ignore Congress and rule like a king and heâll get away with most of it.

How does this one actually end?
So. Trump canât really back down properly or he loses, so he keeps up the rhetoric, pays Iran, and the strait opens (sometimes) until Israel spoils it again. The US canât force open the strait without an enormous war, but Trump can say he has done it, and this will be repeated, even by people who should know better. Iran wonât just close the strait entirely and leave it at that, it will open and close it for the best benefit of Iran. The increase in the cost of everything we will see, will be blamed on whoever is politically convenient.
