Counter.Social Twitter alternative?

Anyone have any experience with Counter.Social as a Twitter alternative? I just heard about it for the first time, and it looks okay.

I heard decent things about Mastodon, and C.S is a fork of that, IIRC.

TBF you see a fair bit of Twitter on reddit, depending upon the subject.
