If you asked me if I wanted to read an essay about bison, football, and America, I would have said ā€œNoā€, and I would have been very wrong.

I’m sorry, all I have for you is classic corporate dystopia.

Frito Lay has released ā€œMexican Street Cornā€ flavored Cheetos here in the States. I’m a very stable, non-confrontational sort, but if Frito Lay ever stops producing these, all bets are off. Incredibly delicious. Even better than ā€œAll Dressedā€ Ruffles, which were cruelly removed from production last year. I’m still bitter over that corporate decision.

I’m not sure if I prefer worldle or globle

I hope this is wrong.

Kill some brain cells.

I would be terrible at Worldle and Globle, but I’m definitely here for Quordle.

I would agree with all of this pretty much wholesale. Google isn’t interested in accurate or helpful search results and hasn’t been for many years. It’s ads and tracking and reselling search history data. That’s google. It’s ad-based search. Which is not remotely pure search.

I haven’t used google for many years–I use a site called duckduckgo which doesn’t track, doesn’t log your history, and doesn’t promote ads. It gives better results generally as well. I have no affiliation with the company, I just really like their search and philosophy.

Reddit is great as well, though, as the author notes, their search interface is abysmal. If google is ad-based search, reddit is torture-based search.
