The Glass Teat, or 'Television'

Nope, not important.

Peacemaker S2. It’s amazing how Gunn’s work shines more when he’s back to smaller productions. This is perfect.

Marvel Zombies. The first couple of episodes were worth the watch, and there is still some good stuff in the third and fourth. I don’t like some aspects of the MCU, and they’re still on display here, but most of it is good. They still have no idea how to cope with the likes of Wanda though.

Peacemaker season 2. I enjoyed it. People are hating on the finale, but overall it felt in line with the rest of the season to me.

Loved it.

Slept on the first season but watching it now and loving it. Reminds me of The Boys a lot.

I love both flavors of Gunn, the Guardians family-friendly one and the Slither/Super raunchy and outrageous one. Peacemaker’s a good mix of the two.

I totally agree. Fantastic season and the finale was great

Drops of God. Perhaps the ultimate horror series, about a French woman who cannot drink wine. I mock, and I’m quite right to, because if you’re not on board with the concept everyone in this sounds like a massve twat. You can tell it’s based on a manga just by the way “Oh, no, it’s not the Beaujolais 95, but is in fact the Beaujolais 94, unlucky fuckface, eat shit.” moments keep happening. Whether you enjoy this entirely depends upon whether you enjoy these moments.

Pluribus. Still making my mind up. As lightly amusing as it is, I don’t think it has solid foundations.

Fallout S2. Basic fun, I suppose? I’m not finding any particular weight or satisfaction to it. It’s very okay.

Always Sunny S17. Still a great show. The characters being completely unredeemable is just perfect, and they keep finding new ways to be awful.

Landman. A big shovelful of cliches, which Billy Bob Thornton makes worth watching.

Wonder Man. Off to a solid, if slightly belaboured start. Great central performances.

Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Really enjoying this. It has that gritty detail to contextualise the historical fantasy.

Invincible S4. Still enjoying this.

The Pitt. ER: The Speedrun.

Punisher: One Last Kill. I think dedicating about half of the total length to Frank essentially being upset and wanting to kill himself is a mistake, but what do I know. The budget for this must have been miniscule, the CGI in particular at times is awful. The latter half is much better simply because there’s more action. Marvel struggles to make Punisher stuff because their formula doesn’t work.

The Pitt S2. Better! I thought that there was something lacking that S1 couldn’t deliver, in that a lot of the relationships were new, but S2 solves that problem.

ZeroZeroZero. The multifaceted story of a cocaine shipment. Fantastic stuff, great acting, killer soundtrack.

Widow’s Bay. The best thing I’ve watched in months. Very funny, great cast, some moments of real horror. 10 seasons, please.

We plan to start this next week, looks really good. Tonight we finish up season 2 of Your Friends and Neighbors (I liked season 1, season 2 is boring and I am doubtful I will return for season 3), but Widow’s Bay is next.

Great show and you know I’m not here for the horror. Acting is great, deadpan humor is fantastic, and I love Matthew Rhys in anything.

You’re up in TS for several days, btw.

This is my new favourite show, and yes, Matthew Rhys in anything is worth at least checking out.

Cape Fear. So when I found out about this, without knowing the roles, I knew Bardem would be the vicious criminal, and Patrick Wilson would be the hapless ineffectual husband, but. BUT. What if they were cast the other way round? Sadly, of course, this was not ever going to happen, but I’ve ruined the series for myself, by imagining every scene of any importance with Wilson trying his best to be a scary tattooed convict, and Bardem attempting to be the glossy soft useless husband. 10/10 for my own personal headcanon.

The Chair Company. My new favourite series. Absolutely unhinged comedy.
